I didn't realize until after uploading that I used an identical layout to the last page. I'll make a conscious effort to mix things up a bit. :P Originally, the dialogue and actions on two pages were intended to be on a single page, but I just could't manage it and have the art look acceptable. It's hard enough to manage these few panels. Thank you for being patient with me.

Always been a big fan of your layouts.

You can thank one of my early DD critics. Despite my art sucking in general, one person looked past the no backgrounds, faulty perspectives, and wrong proportions and suggested I try something different than my 9 square panel layout. So I went all out and randomly laid out a tanagram of panels as an experiment -- and it was fun. (My art later evolved to fit the weird layouts, but the layouts were my first change.)

Tense. I try not to get up on top of buildings either.

I like being on top of buildings, but only buildings designed with viewing platforms.

That's remarkable!! Your layouts are truly unique on this site, and for two to be subconsciously similar is amazing... but then, it really connects this single scene together too!!

Actually, a lot of my layouts are similar. I don't have actual templates, but I do have some personal guidelines. This one is one of the most basic designs because it gives lots of room for art, similar sized panels, and is angled for easy balloon placement. (I didn't mean to have the exact same layout on consecutive pages, but at least in print, they won't face each other.)
