Okay I know the movie came out a while ago, but I just saw it on dvd and all I have to say is WHAT THE F*UCK now i'm a true comic boook lover so I like seeing comic book movies that follow the comic book (even though thats rare) but I make exceptions and stuff but after I saw wolverine origins I was like what the f*uck did I just watch that movie followed nothing of the storyline of any of the characters now don't get me wrong I expected some flaws and stuff but that was just outrageous DEADPOOL WAS SHOOTING LAZERS OUT OF HIS GODDAMN EYES!!!!! he had claws coming out of his hands like barracka, sabertooth and wolverine are not brothers I could go on all day. Now maybe I'm just being a spoiled comic brat or maybe i'm just passionate about comics, but either way wolverine origins sucked ass of elephants with diareah( <<<<
Invader zim vs Grr = FUUN MUHAHAHAHAHAH Im tired of hearing about the damn shamwow or am I o.0 who will know Grr will thats who Evil is ocra and oprah or am I just them in a alternate universe only a god knows unless Im him too

I think you're being a liiiiiittle irrational. The movie was still entertaining, if you're not constantly comparing to to the comics. True Deadpool was different, but did it not make sense in the story? I think you have to look at it as two separate things, not nitpicking at all the differences.
Take the sixth Harry Potter movie for example. The movie, phenomenal. The book, phenomenal. There were millions of little things that were off, but they were both still entertaining.
Plus, when Wolverine cuts off Deadpool's head and the laser eyes destroy the tower they're fighting on, that was awesome. I don't care if it was in the books or not.

I thought the movie was pretty good overall, just wasting Deadpool in the end like that sort of annoyed me, though. The opening cinematography honestly surprised me.

At least we can dismiss it as not canon since it's not in the comics. The movie ticked me off sure, but the comics…you wanna talk about ruined, good god, the three runs of Deadpool coming out now suck massively. Well, I take that back. The first issue of Team-up (Hercules) wasn't terrible, it just had those ANNOYING 3 dialogue boxes that have never been part of his character until that talentless jerk DANIEL WAY decided to throw out almost 20 years of ESTABLISHED CANON to reduce him into an ineffective, bumbling “wacky” nincompoop who talks to himself in 3 unfunny dialogue balloons and now sees wacky visions because Daniel Way can't write witty dialogue to save his life. He can barely write a coherent story at that. It…it just sucks. And where the hell is Weasel!?

And Merc With a Mouth sucks too, but I can see why people like it because it appeals to brainless perverts who like Gina Digger ripoffs with big boobies and needless soft-porno posing. I have yet to meet someone who actually likes what they are writing with DP these days. I'm sure there's someone out there with no taste and a willingness to accept this ridiculous impostor…

You know what, I shouldn't have to explain how bad it is. If you read it and have any love for the character you're probably as upset as I am. I'd be horrified if you think these are any good though!

So, did I mention I hate Daniel Way for ruining my favorite Marvel, nay, favorite comics character of all time? At first I was excited when I heard they were doing new series of Deadpool comics, but now I just want them all to fail because they suck so hard. They are on par with the movie's “Weapon 11 Deadpool” in suckatude. It makes fuzzy Deadpool cry.

I was very disappointed with the film. I left the theater thinking…“Meh.”

Since I probably wont add anything here that has already been said, I just want to ask, did the enemy at the end (played by Ryan Peynolds) look like Baraka from Mortal Kombat to anyone else?

As for the movie…it wasn't the worst thing in the world (That's Transformers 2) but it had its moments. By moments I mean opportunities to add your own MST3K comments to it, as I watched it both times at the drive-in. If this movie doesn't get a rifftrax, I'll be sad.

Not only did this movie not follow comics canon, it didn't even follow the storyline of its own trilogy. I can understand everything ignoring movie #3, but #1 and #2?

This movie should have been titled Wolverine Elseworlds.

I liked the fight between Wolvy & Sabretooth vs teleportaaaaa Deadpool. Other than that, I was outraged at the Deadpool stuff as soon as I heard about it. By the time I got around to seeing the movie it was on DVD and I had accepted that it would suck.

It actually didn't suck as bad as I thought it would. But it was pretty crappy =p

Excuse me while I go eat snacks with Amelius. I haven't read the new Deadpool comics. I had been thinking about ordering a few, but if what you say is true… maybe not.

I think it might be because a lot of people who get really into webcomics just kind of stop reading mainstream comics.

Anyway, I didn't care about this movie at all until I heard Deadpool was in it, and was going to be played by Ryan Reynolds (who I think is a pretty cool guy, desptite what Ozone thinks). Once I heard what happens to him by the end, though, I sort of lost interest, even though I heard Reynolds did a pretty bang-up job in the earlier scenes when Wade Wilson was allowed to be himself.

So… yeah. Still haven't seen it, and I doubt I'll pay money to see it any time soon. When did the second Fantastic Four movie come out? Because I just now saw that on FX, because after seeing the first movie I certainly wasn't going to pay money to see it. If it comes on TV, you can bet I'll sit through the whole thing. Ohterwise I'm not seeing much motivation to go through with it, especially after the train wreack that was X3.

Who were some of those side characters, Marvel universe-wise?

– The Asian guy good with guns.
– The black guy who teleports.
– The female love interest with Jedi mind touch.

I had expected Omega Red to pop up somewhere.

That would be Agent Zero, Kestrel (I think they only refer to him as Wraith) and Silverfox.

Good point! I kinda forget since I started with webcomics and started getting more into the mainstream…
Deadpool was the only reason we went to see it too, and Wade Wilson wasn't bad after all.

JustNoPoint

*hands over the snacks* Yessss, avoid these, even the comic book guy I know who loves absolutely everything (except All-Star Batman, for similar character derailing reasons!) said he couldn't get into the series at all.#900 wasn't too bad, though the art kinda stinks in some of it. Just let me put it this way: in a book with several artists, Rob Leifeld's art is considerably one of the better ones!
Also, with the new series, it's gotten to the point where when Deadpool says something I can't tell if it's supposed to be a joke or not. Way is pretty adamant that none of the supporting cast is coming back (except Bob) because Daniel is frankly, too stupid to understand what makes Deadpool great: he annoys other Marvel characters. Deadpool just isn't funny by himself or with the bimbo of the week, but he seems to think that…and he's wrong! Good Deadpool is supposed to be a fine balance of angst and slapstick, and since Daniel Way can't write slapstick or even funny dialogue…but we get tons of dialogue anyway! We just have Deadpool talking to himself and having goofy visions in lieu of his former snarky, genre-savvy commentary. He doesn't even have comic awareness anymore!

Splash Damage
and @Amelius, Transformers was better.
Only if by that you mean G1 Transformers with Orson Welles as Unicron. At least we didn't see Weapon 11's testicles or he starts humping Wolverine's leg. Hell, Barakapool was annoying but not JarJar level annoying! Though, given the choice, I think I'd rather have Transformers “ruined forever!” than Deadpool…

Heh, and about the Baraka comparisons…anyone notice how stupid it is that Stryker is even controlling him LIKE a video game character? He even types “decapitate” in the computer. I think the komparison is apt since he literally was a Mortal Kombat kharacter. My forehead was red after this with how many times I face-palmed!

@ Puff of Smoke:

The only reason I can think of for that… would be that you are completely and utterly ignorant of the Marvel universe.
Besides, X-men 1 and 2 rocked. It's got The Captain! And Gandalf! And the Wolverine + Rogue segment in Act I of X-men (15 minutes?) is better than the entirety of Wolverine Origins.

I was really disappointed with the “WOLVERINE” movie. It had so much potential to be better. And I'm shocked that the “STAR TREK” movie stomped it at the Box Office… well NOT that shocked…. “STAR TREK” was a very good movie.

Ryan Rynolds was the perfect Wade Wilson, and would have been the perfect Deadpool had he been able to speak and not busy shooting lazers out of his eyes. Other than the Deadpool stuff I found the movie enjoyable, I can deal with comic/movie story discreptencies (spl?) pretty well. Just not huge changes to chracters like that.

Any Marvel movie done by FOX sucked. This one sucked as did the others. Xmen one was barely tolerable, but still it did suck most of the time.

But… Only one movie made by FOX was okay, Daredevil. Afleck did a good job. Deebo did a good job. Farrel did a good job. It was so good it didn't need a sequel… And yet… We got Electra… Damnit.

Back to the Wolverine movie. Fine, it was garbage. They brought in mutants to kill off within minutes. Blob, Nightcrawler's dad, Zero, and Bradly.

What about Gambit? You only see him for about 10 seconds and he's gone. And damn, didn't the actor play him poorly.

At least Ryan Reynolds did a good job as Wade Wilson. It's not his fault Wade/Deadpool got screwed over. It's FOX's fault, as well as the two bit actor playing Wolverine. Didn't he have executive producer in his name or something? I know he's “Mr. I have to keep Wolverine's image perfect, because thats my only way to make money”.

I wasn't outright angry, not being a longtime reader of Marvel. The way I saw the movie it was…generic. Take away the X-Men characters and you've really got an action flick that doesn't do anything special. Yeah, it did differ from the formula in some places, but it just didn't do enough different to stand out.

In my opinion, if you leave your brain at the door and think of the whole thing as more of a Wolverine fan-fic, it's not so bad. A big-budget fan-fic with lots of explosions and whatnot, but still a fan-fic.

I couldn't care less about comic book movies, but that's Hugh Jackman you're talking about there mate! As a fellow Aussie I have to stick up for him.

Well I don't really, but he is a pretty decent actor. Whereas Ryan Reynolds is a dick.
