Comic Book Galaxy is reporting that Alex Toth has been in the hospital for the past several weeks, and “can use some words of encouragement, humor and appreciation.” Toth is one of the seminal comic book and animation artists of the 1960's and 1970's, and is credited with designing Space Ghost, Birdman, and The Herculoids. Fans who wish to send Toth their good wishes may send them to:

Please do not send requests for drawings or autographs.

DD should send him something. The guy's a legend and I'm sure it would please him to know how his work has inspired many of us.

Over at Nightgig we've decided we're going to do something, likely pictures of Space Ghost in our different styles, then we'll send him a nice print.

Thing is, Space Ghost and Birdman sucked.
I liked the original versions better. I liked The Herculoids too.

Ah that's sad that he's ill… But one of my cats that I've had for 18 years (almost 19), is dieing at the moment and that's a bit sadder for me right now…

But still, I hope the guy gets better, those are great characters.

Aw man, I hope he pulls through. A lot of my work wouldn't have been the same without his influence.

Oh craaaaaaaaaaaap!
I liked Space Ghost. It was a very fun little cartoon. Likewise Birdman. (And I'm talking about the originals here, not the new Adult Swim ones. Though I do also find Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law amusing.)

Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law kick ass.

Though it's never happy when someone's ill. Well. Sometimes it is. But not now.

I'd be willing to bet money your not over the age of fifteen.

Space Ghost: Coast To Coast is 12 years old.

The only cool thing about the original Space Ghost was it's retro futurisum design.
