Tay - ay - tay- ay - taking chances . . . yeah, obsessively bouncy

Here's a ditty that I find hard to shake. “It's kind a cool” :)

Seriously, I REALLY like this one.

Have you heard the German version? It's hypnotic. @_@

Re: The Rain Song

Yes, there are “certain elements” but I'm “singing that song” - and appreciate those many opportunities to just blast when singing along. Which I do. Not nearly as well as the performer. And dance. It's havoc.

Incidentally, writer and performer is one of our fellow DDers. Uh Huh!

Well, someone's going to say this artist at some point. Might as well be me.

La……dy……Ga…..ga…ugh, I couldn't even bear to type that all out at once.

Seriously though, why is a song with such “empty” lyrics (in terms of meaning) so catchy? I just don't get it. :(

Anything by ABBA. It used to be really annoying but after seeing the musical Momma Mia I can block out the disco images and replace them with the Broadway images (But never, never, never Pierce Brosnan in the movie)

Lady Gaga sings? Never noticed.

“Holy Diver” by Ronnie James Dio was stuck in my head for at least a month at one point, not too long ago.

Other than that, pretty much anything by In Flames or Children of Bodom.

Hey, those guys were in a recent Pendulum album. Now those songs fit the title of this topic minus the whole “annoying” part - at least for me. ;)

In a VS L4D2 game yesterday, all talk was turned on, and my team was treated to a song by someone on the other team called “Fuck my butt”.
I have been singing it to myself ever since. It is very catchy.

How do I live is also an offender.

There is only one problem with that. It's like Groundhog Day. You die and you're right back where you were and ABBA is still playing.

I once ran off a bridge and flipped my car while listening to ABBA. It doesn't stop. The last music you hear before losing consciousness stays with you forever.

I also think that Heaven's Waiting Room musak is Abba's greatest hits.

Barry Manilow.

I can listen to “I'm a wanker” forever but not Barry Manilow.

If we're going back to ABBA, then I can name a golden moldy and The Most Annoying Song Ever: MacArthur Park.

There was one day in Hell because I couldn't escape that tune. “Oh~ No~ *warble warble*”

That's the worst “stuck in your mind” song of all time. My wife's best friend has been teasing her with that song for 30 years.

Fortunately Weird Al did a spoof so I just switch the lyrics in my head to “Jurassic Park” and I'm safe.

Man, I love MacArthur Park and all of Abba. :(

Wouldn't want to hear MacArthur Park more than once in a blue moon though. It's a great song and old Richard Harris is a surreal singer, but only every now and again.

That's terrible!

It's like he could see into my soul when he was writing it… O_O

Love the parody in there of Mrs Brown you've got a lovely daughter by Herman's Hermits. THAT is a song that gets annoyingly stuck in your head too. …No Milk today is another by them that's a real brain worm, except it's actually good.

o geez. thanks muchly for this one. I AM singing it and I don't even know what half the words mean. I can guess. I'll go gargle later.

I'm reminded of once when my brother and I stayed with my aunt in her household. I was 8, my brother 6, and my cousin was totally cool: 16. We wouldn't leave him alone, so he'd put a vinyl on the turntable to distract us. Well, it was a fine system until my aunt found us listening to the HAIR soundtrack and singing along to Sodomy.

Could be worse. I used to associate David Gray's Babylon with some of my most treasured childhood memories…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjvB0rz9Ork
…Now I can't listen to it without thinking of the horrors of the inside of my own arse being snipped at and bleeding during sample taking just after my sedative wore off. I didn't know when that track would ever end. DAMN THAT COLONOSCOPY!

When I read the thread title the very first track I thought of was this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ0xBCwkg3E

But then there's one bigger track in my brain's arsenal that played over and over again in my head before it was on british TV, plagued it when a TV show with in on aired a few months later, went rampnt on my psyche for years since until I left Scotland, left me alone for a while until it struck me out of nowhere without any outside influence on a family trip to Blackpool and I was waiting for my dad to get the parking spot ticket.
Here it is in the original video I found:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX_rNEPIgc8
I'm not yet at the point in which I would rather rip my ears off than listen to it, but it's not something I want to think about when I'm trying to work.

Call that jumped up metal rod a knife?
Watch mine go straight through a kevlar table, and if it dunt do the same to a certain gaixan's skull in my immediate vicinity after, I GET A F*****G REFUND! BUKKO, AH?!

Ewwww! Eurovision nasties!

Along those lines I thought of “Turbo Folk”, the style of music popular from the 90s in Eastern Europe, mixing folk styles and dance techno… enjoyed most there by thugs bogans/chavs/hillbillies/hicks whatever the equivalent is in your part of the world. A music style utterly reviled by anyone with taste over there. A style of music sung by ultra sexy dancing girls in skimpy clothes- who are all in relationships with small time gangsters…

But listening to t again now, I find I actually quite enjoy it ^___^
Turbo folk.

It sounds like what passes for pop music in the the Arab world. Eastern Europe has always had its give and take with Turks and Arabs.

Eyesinback why'd you have to mention Rocky Horror? I know the words to nearly every song in the soundtrack and they all get stuck in my head. The first few hours aren't bad, but after the first week it gets annoying. I will not post any links find the music for yourself.

How very unfortunate that is…but I couldn't help but laugh. Mostly because I can relate to it - though my circumstance wasn't nearly as bad.

Want to know how I was aware of her latest hit single the exact day/night it came out? My neighbor blasted it next door on repeat for an hour or so starting at about seven in the morning after she awoke.
