I don't mean Monday through Friday, I mean EVERY DAY.

I was just wondering if anyone with the same update schedule would care to commiserate with me over all the blah that comes with it.
you know why birds don't write their memoirs? because birds don't lead epic lives, that's why. who'd want to read what a bird does? nobody. that's who.

I update every day, usually. I only don't do every day if my buffer runs out, which it sometimes does, because of things like college work I sometimes don't have time to make any pages for a while, and my buffer runs out so I end up updating slowly. Usually if I notice my buffer pages are running out I'll slow down the updating to every other day.

That's a big problem of mine, I need to buffer. I do that very seldom, and since I don't always have time myself, I end up churning out crap from time to time.

I always say when I have a day to myself I should just sit and draw a ton of comics so I won't have to worry about it for at least a few days, but I never do.

Sometimes when ideas start coming scarcely it feels like “whew! Okay, got something for today… aw crap, I have to do something for tomorrow! God dammit!”

The Mafia Comic updates every day (usually) at first there was no buffer. I made the pages as events happened in the game. But I took a couple of months off to get a good buffer going.

I used to. I started out every day but I had so few pageviews and comments on weekends (and was so overloaded trying to keep up). I started taking Saturdays and Sundays off. It was really important to update as often as possible when I was starting out because I had over two hundred scanned pages to get through, and most of them were embarrassingly rough and ugly. I was impatient to get to more current work.

I had to reduce to two days a week when I switched to color because now it takes two days to make a page. I've burned through the majority of my scanned pages, so I knew I could slow down and take my time. While overall pageviews might be less, I get more comments this way, and it's easier for readers to keep up. Plus, it allowed me to start a second comic, which I've wanted to do for a long time.

I know that the quality is compromised, but the challenge is very appealing to me, for an odd reason… it's why I started doing it in the first place.

Plus I don't really have the means to make anything that looks really good (not yet, anyway) so I'd feel cheap taking two or three days to come up with a crappy ms paint page, hahaha…

God, I wish I could pump a page out everyday. I probably could and I have, but that's usually only when I'm trying to build up my buffer. I definitely commend you for your effort, it's gotta be tough.

i've had two daily-update rushes in my comic's one year run, and i'm afraid to say those make up for most of the comic's updates, right now i can't even update weekly.

I have a friend who manages to get an issue for print done in a week time, but she's an art prodigy and doesn't waste much time correcting anatomy and such.

I once did daily updates of a b&w comic, but the quality suffered too much. I was exhausted as well. I don't think it's worth it, seriously, better have some life, people;)

Currently aiming for 2-3 pages/week, but I need practice before I can work this fast, that's why I'm taking a few months break (I also hope more practice doodling will help me achieve better art quality) from updates. Oddly enough, the thing that took me most time was thinking up the page layout, closely followed by planning the panel contents. Coloring could be done in one afternoon.

As my art improves, my speed drops :(

It used to go up. At the end of Din Krakatau I was able to get 3-5 pages pencilled in a single day and then I was coloring 6-12 pages a day. Now? Now I need 5-6 hours minimum to pencil and ink a page, ugh.

Guess I'll have to come up with a Go Nagai inspired style for the longer projects, heh.

So no, no daily updates, unfortunately, at least not for a while (actually no updates at all, meh).

My comic Sailor Soldiers of Justice used to update daily before it ended.

I worked on it with another person and at one point we had a 3-month buffer.

…Without that, I think it'd be really stressful to do daily updates. >.<
