Yeah, Narnia was pretty great. They totally stayed true to the story. I actually remember a lot, a lot, a lot, of lines in movie straight from the book.

Yes, I remembered a lot of the lines too, but I really should go back and read the novels. I haven't actually read them, so now I'm gonna see if I can. The landscape was phenomenal, and so were the creatures. And a very powerful rendition of the novel I must add. Yes, if there were a top movie, I'd say Narnia fits the bill.

4: An Explosion or two

I wish it was more recgonized. I thought it was an awesome movie.

Aha, but you've got three things working against you:

1: The absolutely ludicrous premise of the movie. (The Founding Fathers were part of a conspiracy involving the Knights Templar and a forbidden treasure? It's like Indiana Jones rammed into The DaVinci Code with The Patriot mixed in.)
2: The horror that is Nicholas Cage doing action movies. (He isn't really a good actor to begin with– he always looks like he might be about to make a facial expression, but he never manages. I mean, heck, even Keanu Reeves does better.)
3: The fact that you've dredged this post back up almost a month after its last post.

Sorry, but there you go. It does not come close to Blues Brothers by any measure. Heck, it doesn't even come close to Rock ‘N’ Roll High School.

I haven't seen really many movies…dunno why, not a big movie guy I guess…SLC punk was pretty good though, kind of leans too much on the stereotype though.

Reviving dead threads is allowed. Don't worry about it. Aqua just wanted to use the word “necroposting” to sound like a forum geek. :P

It's a tie for me, either The Matrix (the first one) or Kung Pow Enter the Fist. The Matrix just kicked ass all around, it was original, and made me think. Kung Pow had me on the floor laughing my head off, and i've seen it 11 1/2 times, i fell asleep watching it once.

Kung Pow Enter the Fist

Ha ha! That's one of those movies I enjoy despite logic, critics, and the universe telling me I shouldn't. It's not so much the jokes I like but the fact that they chopped up and repurposed a few old movies just to make. It's not my favorite, but… Well, I couldn't ever peg down ONE best movie ever anyway.

Akira Kurosawa's ‘The Seven Samurai’.

It's the most re-made film in cinema history for a reason. It (well, moreso all of Kurosawa's films) also single-handedly gave Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood careers.

Also, his film ‘The Hidden Fortress’. Basically, it's Star Wars, but was made in 1958, and set in Japan. A brilliant film.

my favorite movie, most likely Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It has a timeless quality to it. I can still watch it over and over.

Also up there: Pulp Fiction, Clerks, Dogma, Kung Fu Hustle, King of Beggars (also by Stephen Chow) and Kill Bill Vol 1.
