Bluring Help in Paint.net

Yeah, I try to blur things on Paint.net then past them over the object in Paint, but there's always white blurs around it. Then I tried to place the object in Layer 2 over a background layer, then try to blur it, but there's always a white background around the object, and nothing makes it transparent. If anyone could lend advice on how I can blur objects without and white blurs around them in anyway it would be very apreciated. Thank you.

You're probably blurring the sprite while the sprite's on a white background, remove the background and that oughtta help.

that seems to work, but when I get rid of the background, then paste in the object, there's a white background around the object. How do I get rid of the background around the pasted object.

Edit: Nevermind, I found out how. Use the Magic Wand tool and select the background, then delete.

Edit, Edit: nope, even without the background it doesn't work. there's still white blurs around it, even though the background has been deleted.

Edit, Edit, Edit(ugh): once again, nevermind, forgot to paste the image over a selected deleted area on the second layer, that made it transparent and good looking. You have saved my comic, before my blurs always looked so ugly.
