Are you still here?
Of course you will. All intelligent beings dream. Nobody knows why.

Also, tell random people they are awsome! it helps!

I think they're generic pop culture tripe, but I'll admit to only hearing the songs they play on the radio most often, so if all of their good songs just aren't popular I'm not aware of it.

FYI: The best band ever was The Beatles

BB has a heavy TOOL influence, as do other band of this particular genre. Tool was influenced by King Crimson, among others. King Crimson was influenced by The Beatles (psychedelic era).

It all boils down to the Beatles, man.

Well, not really. The Beatles had their influences, too, I'm sure.

Considering I like songs with no words, I probably wouldn't like these people.

Can't say I hear it in them myself.
Well, being FROM the Wilkes-Barre, PA area (which is where BB is from), I can tell you that they used to cover Tool and Korn all the time at thier shows.

The differences between a band like Breaking Benjamin and a band like the Beatles is like the difference between Mark Macguire and Babe Ruth; like trying to compare George Foreman to Muhammad Ali; it's the difference between a story and a legend. A story can be told forever, but a legend will never die.

Really, it's not even fair of me to compare them.

I'm not going to freak out and try to defend the Beatles, because Lord Knows there's a few songs of theirs I can't quite stand, but…

Creed? Are you serious? I mean, yeah, Pink Floyd, they're great, gotta love Floyd, but Creed??

I agree. Creed's songs all sound the same. They all sound the same! (The same is true, to an extent, with Breaking Benjamin. Hell, even most of Pink Floyd's work shares a sort of over-inflated droning quality to it.) Whereas the Beatles (spelled with an “A”, by the by) have gone through too many stylistic changes to count. Plus there's the fact that the Beatles stuck around for almost two decades, while Creed fizzled out after– what? About three years?

Seriously, people. I'm not saying you have a bad taste in music– all music has redeeming qualities. I'm just saying that you have to back up your opinions with a solid argument for your position. I could say that Elvis Costello is the most revolutionary singer ever to grace the music scene, but everybody outside of the Costello fanbase would brush me off simply due to my lack of reasons why. (Plus he has that stupid voice of his. And he always seems content to sort of chant lyrics instead of actually sing them.)

In short: Be yourself. Just be cool about it, okay? Don't freak out.

~IJ

PS: Anyone ever heard of this band from the Seventies called Love? I had barely heard of them before until recently, but I got their album Forever Changes from the library and I gotta admit that it's growing on me. They're kind of a West Coast band, apparently. Anyways, check 'em out.

I think Creed was one of the best bands just out of opinion, ill give you that, but Pink Floyd had a completely different sound of almost all bands. I have yet to find a band that even begins to sound like them. There music was slow but still somehow exciting. It had a nice blues ring to it, too. It was completely unique.

The reason i can't stand the beetles is it just is a little too happy or high on something, and all around too light. I like my dark, heavy music

The Beatles have their share of dark, moody music. My favorite of that section of their music is probably Eleanor Rigby. In fact, Eleanor Rigby is significant for being the first dark, depressing song produced by what was then a Pop band, and introducing that style of music to more mainstream audiences.

Cool. they should stick with being a cover band then. It'd probably sound better.

Their singles are good, but I can't say to much for the rest of their stuff.
listen to their new album

a legend will never die.

When I read that, I instantly thought of Soul Calibur III

And jake, calm down. Just because you like a band doesn't mean you have to make everybody like it. You're not a Jehovah's Witness. Are you? Please say you're not.
