Not sure if I'm putting this in the right section. Anyway, I'm planning to compile some tutorial techniques from several comic artists.

If you know some special techniques on doing comics, be it Japanese manga, American comics etc., I would love to get them posted up. :-)

For details, please go here: http://www.drunkduck.com/Comic_Tutorials/

Mr Niel: Thanks for the fav'd. I would actually love to see you do a great tutorial on how to draw an American superheroine comic.

hpk: I love your coloring effects. Can't wait to see how you did your coloring works!

marine: Cool. I think most of us needs to learn a thing or two about drawing and animating using flash. This could be a great opportunity for everyone to learn drawing this style.

Oh yeah, there's no due date for you to submit your tutorials. I hope to see more submission from other artists as well. :D

I think I shall fave this as well.
I'd like to contribute something but there's not really a lot of technique involved in the way I do things.

Skool: Yay! Thanks for putting this in the newspost! :D *hugz*

Mr Niel: Aww come on. :D I actually get inspiration from your sexy hot looking female character design. Pretty pleeaaaassseeee? ^__^

Kytri: Thanks for the fav! :-) It doesn't have to be really a complicated tutorials. Simple tutorials such as creating a story for your comic can actually be considered a good tutorial.

Actually, what I'm looking forward are tutorials created by individuals. Not techniques that can easily be searched online. I believe everyone has their own techniques in creating comics that can be shared online and are not found anywhere on the website. Hence, this is the reason for the set up of this tutorial site. :-)

Riley: Ah, it's alright. I'm not angry or anything. :-D Some tutorial sites do offer great info in teaching us how to draw. They provide us with foundation on understanding how to make a comic better. But do bear in mind that it's up to the comic creators to accept whether the techniques are useful to them.

So, I'm actually here to only gather as many techniques from other people who have different experiences in doing comics. Hopefully, I'll get to see tutorial techniques not only from the experts but also from people who just started doing comics. Perhaps you would like to participate in this tutorial submission as well?

FinbarReilly
Tater Salad
Hello, sir.

Me wuv woo.

1) Heh. No prob…

2) Just thought I'd point out that there are some writing tutorials out there (if I'd just update more  …) ‘cause it seems like, although there’s a lot of drawing tutorials, there's few writing tutorials, and writing is more important in a lot of ways (you'll read a comic with bad art with good writing, but you won't read a comic with great art and horrible writing).

FR

PS: I'm back…

And I happen to be one of those folks with horrible writing.

By the way, since you have written a tutorial about comic writing, could you perhaps make a submission in writing format in JPEG, PNG or GIF instead of plugging links of your tutorials?

FinbarReilly you have a good point..but to teach one how to write first i would have to show how to understand why you like the books you like and how to build on that to make your writing better.. i use you to mean the reader not you finbarReily..and most likely i would but you to sleep as on like you cant see how a wave my hands around as i talk and you would want to know how any one with spelling as bad as mine could teach writing… so i will hope FinbarReily will do this project..

i like what you are working on here.. been keeping an eye on the project.. but not sure i would have any thing usefull or new to add.. may think of some thing but right now…shrugges..-_-

Of course you can make a sprite tutorial. But try to keep your tutorial as professional as possible. And I wub you all.

FR: The reason for converting the writing format into a graphic format is because DD site doesn't quite support writing submission.

Please everyone, I'm looking for contribution for this thread. This is not a place to plug and promote your own website of your tutorial techniques or anybody else's tutorial website. What I'm looking forward now is actual contribution. If you have a tutorial that you have created and you would like to submit it on on the DD's website, please email me your works at ephanmyATyahooDOTcom :|

If you have a graphics application, you can cut and paste from your text editor or word processor into the graphics application. Once in the graphics application, save as a web compatable format - I reccomend 8bit png.

If you have advice worth sharing, it's worth the effort to share it.

My “inking” tutorial is very text heavy, for example.

On the other hand, why not a text submission? This post is text.

Mykill, your tutorial techniques are awesome. Since I don't have any actual art class training, it's great to learn from someone who have such training. Those are really useful tutorial techniques. Thanks! I'll be putting your stuffs up tomorrow.
