Someone should go in and insert the loud “THANK YOU, NEXT!.” coming from the middle seats of the auditorium.

Boom sha…THANK YOU, NEXT!

Please call Stel… THANK YOU, NEXT!

Okay, Tomorrow is submission deadline BUT before the submitters are announced, I suggest that we listeners decide on which file is the:

most intriguing
most obvious (as in, that one HAS to be from)
most surprising
most talented
most creative
most lovely
most must-listen-to-that-one-again
most

No PQs necessary - just post here.

I think the most lovely one is the one where someone says:
Please call Stella.

Yeah, you know who I mean.
You rock.
The feeling you get, right before you poop.
That's the best feeling in the world.

@Kroatz

they are ALL the most lovely then. indeed

I think most talented might have to go to 002 - very convincing accent. As to most obvious, that's obvious.

Most creative? I think 010 and 016 have to share

most intriguing: possibly 008, but that might just be because it's from Satan

most must-listen-to-that-one-again: a 17-way tie (adding in the quail). yeah, cheesy, but they Are all fun

Aqua. I suspected he may be asleep which was why he hadn't posted anything.

Also, how do we make guesses? A numbered list?

Good point.

If the folks who sent in a file want to PQ their guesses to me so that they don't give away their own file, I can tally them up and post the results later (let's say 17 Dec)

For those who didn't upload a file, guess away via post, or PQ if you like.

All guessers with corresponding guesses would be included in final tally.

if someone has a better plan, now's the time to suggest.

You could create some crazy, indecipherable code with which we'll submit our answers. Each word will take about twenty minutes or so to translate, hopefully deterring anyone motivated enough to want to crack it. It will even include a system of prime numbers. It will be beautiful!

Eh…better yet, I'll just message you.

Notice of New Guideline re Contest

Actual identification of the 17 files available at http://www.mediafire.com
email: drunkduck100@yahoo.com
password: 100voices

will not be made until there have been no fewer than 30 individual guesses.

re: listening to the files, they do have to be downloaded to be listened to, but I think they're safe. I've downloaded them all, and so far nothing crazy has happened.

So please listen to the brave souls, namely

Anthony Mercer

blindsk
DracheLehre
elektro
Faliat
gene hole
gullas
Kroatz
Niccea
ozoneocean
Product Placement
Rain27
rokulily
seventy2

the quail

who contributed to the community, and guess who's who.

Wow, no clues or anything! Lol.
Well, there are a few clues in the What The Heck thread that starts at http://www.drunkduck.com/community/view_topic.php?tid=54583&cid=1642.

For example, Kroatz wrote:

My voice sounds like the sound of thunder, dipped in white chocolate and filled with liquid gold.

Obviously only one file meets that description. And there may be other gems as well.

Also, feel free to provide clues to your own file as you like. It's easy - here, I'll do one right now: I (ayes) have a female-sounding voice.

Well I'm sure mine would be obvious anyway, but I guess I'll provide one hint.

It's got more than one voice recording in it.

And wouldn't it be a bit more interesting if we each recorded another voice file accouncing which number we are at the end and linked to them in a post?

A big clue is to look at the early posters in this thread, (later posters may not have contributed), look at the order that they're in and compare that to the voice number order. ;)

Also, think about the accents on the posters here. If you know the countries they're from it helps. Some people are very simple to guess because of that :)
…although more people are American.
Also, knowing the gender helps too.

Yes! 2 - two (ah ah, says The Count) guesses are in. And we have a mean of 6 correct guesses.

28 guesses to go before all mysteries are revealed. And at this rate, well . . .

Thanks so much for trying, Hippie Van. Considering that most of us haven't met any of us, guessing each others' voices is not going to be easy, unless you have a good idea of regional and national accents.

But you have a leg up with three, and so far no one has failed to identify me, and if you just “standard test” it (ya know: put down one guy's name for every guy you don't know), you'll get him right that once - so there's five — and that's respectable.

Go ahead, send it in. :) (and say hi to little Juliet - her black fur is so pretty)

Today is 18 December, and with only 5 guesses received, I'm calling it quits.

Thanks to everyone who participated, and special thanks to skoolmunkee and ozoneocean, who were great about getting the word out.

Awarding of points:

50 to skoolmunkee, who was the first to get her guesses in,
also 50 each to ozoneocean and blindsk, who tied with most correct guesses at 9
and 25 each to elecktro, Product Placement, and seventy2, the men of mystery that no one identified correctly.

For anyone who's curious, there is an answer sheet on the mediafire site.

A tie?! Well ozone, after seeing your impressive nine correct guess, I have to admit I was hard-pressed to try to beat that. But your tip about post order along with comparing to the original “describe your voice post” helped quite a bit with the guessing. I have no reluctance to conceding to a tie with you. :)

And I do want to thank ayesinback for organizing this! Honestly, you did a great job pulling us together to record our voices and getting us to guess on them. Great work, I at least thought it was very organized!
