I should try that some time. I've always wanted to make some digital art that was a bit different style than the cartoony stuff I usually do.

All artwork done, lettering tonight/tomorrow and then sending it off to my regular “proofreader”… should send in the entire thing closer to weekend.

The most labor intensive comic I have ever done, heh.

Wow. I mean, it looked cool before, but it looks so much cooler in color.

Important question: My pages ended up rather large in size due to the “texturized” coloring so the entire thing has 57mb. Should I send it in one mail? two? three? perhaps upload it somewhere instead? (I have successfully used megaupload for moving large image files in the past).

Other than that I am finished, all pages are drawn, colored, lettered and checked.

Try flattening the image (don't know if you did that already) and, when saving the TIFF file, use the LZW compression. My pages were over 25 MB before I did that. If that's already been done, then I'm not sure what to tell you.

I did all that. My unflattened pages run 40-70mb (total 350mb for all 6 pages together) while flattened and resized to 300dpi go between 7-10mb. And yes, it's TIFF and LZW etc. It's just the style of coloring I've used (and the amount of detail on the pages), it gives large files.

I don't want to spend 20 minutes uploading a mail (I believe I could send out one this big) only to have it bounce back at me because it wasn't accepted by the server.

You'll have to send each one as a separate email. That's what I had to do.

but anyway, should I start freaking out about deadlines yet?

edit: just read back a few posts, and apparently I shouldn't freak out just yet.

I'm struggling with the name for the main character- I want something snooty (think along the lines of Druzilla) for one of those generic wicked stepsister chicks. I was thinking Vislaide as a horrifically made-up name that kind of means Ugly Face (visage laide)in french.

Any suggestions? Does Vislaide sound like a real name? can I get away with it?

If I can get away with Drannik, Lizzep, and Ojmiz as names, then Vislaide is no problem.

yeah, i am man. sorry for the radio silence. was kinda overwhelmed there for a while but since i've got OZ takin the reigns on putrid for a few pages, i've been gettinh more work on this done. so no worries.

The book is in a complicated situation, heh.

Am I the only one who finished the story? (other than Elektro who I guess is now part of the book considering Skullbie seems to have bailed on us, whenever it comes out). Because yeah, everyone's either missing or slow.

Ok, I think I'll take my story and start a book of short stories around it, you're still free to use it whenever you're ready to continue the project.
