you know why birds don't write their memoirs? because birds don't lead epic lives, that's why. who'd want to read what a bird does? nobody. that's who.

Hmmh…. Ifelldownthestairs…

Why does it seem so fitting that you're commenting on this topic?

Anyway, regarding the first video… wow! I've seen a handful of excuses that people make for pulling up a gun but this one?
Those were my two cents.

I
I have a gun. It's really powerful. Especially against living things.

Excuse?

“I pulled my gun out because the man had a knife and was about to stab my wife!”

“What a lame excuse!”

I'm thinking this guy had something bigger planned for that firearm rather than self protection and let his anger get the best of him, resulting in him pulling it out early.

Heh… I said I've seen allot of excuses. I never said anything about any of them being valid.

And the officer did what he was supposed to to and took the perp down. Imagine if there had been no officer there and our fried friend has gone postal anyway (albeit without a gun)

The second one shows the advantage of a population that knows self-defence. Makes you feel sorry for the perp… almost. I pity criminals in an Asian country.

That weedy piece of crap? Having no reason to run away, the rest would have killed him.

That second vid looked fake… That's a bit of an amazingly spectacular move for her just to happen to be able to pull off there in the heat of the moment.

You really should get out more. :) As for the second, I wouldn't be so sure. Heat of the moment is the whole point of self-defence training.

You probably also have difficulty believing that a tank can put steel on target at 1500-3000 meters in the heat of the moment. Three seconds. You just do it and can't explain it to anyone else.

I get out a lot. :)
Having even been involved in a scuffle like that in a public place, I know that it depends on the circumstances. In a confined space like that where people are squeezed right up against him, if he attacked without a weapon they would likely have defended themselves and retaliated.
The difference is when there's the option of ignoring what's going on and pretending it's not happening. In that case, even without a weapon there wouldn't be that option.

No, I only have difficulty about that particular move Bravo. ;)

Well…. it's not that complicate looking. If the girl has been training these kind of moves for a long time, she's able to use them on instinct alone. After enough repetition it comes as second nature to you. Just imagine walking. Looks damn hard when you think about it, balancing ourselves on two legs and all. A two year old still hasn't gotten the hang of it and is falling and tripping all over the place. But because we do it all the time we learn to do it properly.
Those were my two cents.

All very well… it's not the complexity, it's the silly, pointless showiness of it that bothers me and makes it look so fake in that instance. It's the sort of thing you see in TV wrestling. lol!

Yep, I bet you anything that was done precisely for the camera. ;)

LOL this is why I always take the stairs. Not only do you avoid these kinds of mishaps but you also lose weight!
