Ever had near uncurable boredom?

I have tons of games to play. I have a ton of TV channels to watch (if you call 60+ channels a ton). I have a ton of weeds and other stuff outside I could just brutalize with my handsaw and machete. And a ton of books to read. And yet… I'M BORED!!! The only thing I want to do right now (even though I don't want to really) is go to work, but that's HOURS from now! Even sleeping has gotten boring, and so has talking with people. Somehow I've become completely unmotivated and lethargic and I just don't want to do anything…

Anyone else have one of these days?

Currently my easter holidays. Ive got no sleep. Ive loads of games i can play, anime i could catch up with, manga i can read or even my own comic could use updating. But i just feel like all of that would be boring, then coming here i find its too quiet and only a certain annoying person is hopping around talking about fallout and zombies and i feel like ripping my hair out with frustration yet i cant pull myself away from the forums. I think i may finally quit smoking too. Its only became boring and im starting to loose the sense of smell.

Taking up a life a crime should help you out.

I would… except that my current job has conditioned me against crime of any sort. Well… unless it's worth my while… hehehe…

I beg to differ. I often get bored of the internet, so I just get up and go for a walk, draw something, play guitar or see if a friend's up for coffee. Y'know, real world stuff. That's actually rewarding (seriously, I've improved my guitar so much in the past few months. A few more weeks and I should be able to play some Black Sabbath all the way through).

Seriously, right now I'm getting bored with the ‘net. I’ma go for a long walk and then head downtown to look for a job.

I have a ton of weeds…
I wasn't thinking about gardening when I read that part.
Those were my two cents.

Prolonged boredom coupled with a feeling of time being squandered is a terrible feeling. Sometimes I realize the need to mentally soft reset myself and therein lies the salvation of sleep. Depression can be of a similar vein, too.

“You tell yourself to just
enjoy the process,” he added. “That whether you succeed or fail, win or
lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle.”

Urgh, ever since I quit my job. If I get out of the house and keep busy with friends it's not so bad, but when I'm here all I can do is restlessly think “I should be drawing! I could play Persona. I shouldn't be on the computer all the time! I should call someone up. I could go to the library! I should read the book I just bought. I gotta do homework…”

But every time I actually switch over to something else, it's like “I'm so unhappy doing this! I can't do this. I could do this, or this, or that…”

So I've gotten into room-escape games and I've started drawing fanart. If you can really get into drawing something, you'll enter the zone where you're focused and time vanishes, and things are always much better when you've made something new. It's just that it's so hard to get started…

Always, I wanna be with mew, and make believe with mew
and live in harmony harmony oh nyan

my friend made (found?) a boredom list. this is what you do when you have nothing else. or, you know, make a comic or something.

1. Start a cult
2. Rate passersby.
3. Step off a curb with eyes shut, imagine it's a cliff
4. Burn things with a magnifying glass.
5. Pour water in hand, make sneeze noise, throw water on back of person's neck
6. Go through the English-(foreign language) dictionary for bad words
7. Suck out all the air in a helium balloon, and sing.
8. Pronounce your friends names, backwards.
9. Put bunny ears on people you don't know
10. Read backwards
11. Glue money to the floor and watch people try to pick it up
12. While riding a bus, every time the bus driver applies the brake yell, “We're going to crash! We're all going to die!” and duck in the fetal position under your seat
13. Buy something in all pennies
14. Stare at people through the tines of a fork and pretend they're in jail
15. Count how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop.
16. Go up to people, ask their name, and give them a nametag
17. Phone your house from your house
18. Talk to telemarketers
19. See how much Tabasco sauce or hot peppers you can eat without drinking water
20. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they aren't looking
21. Drape a blanket around your shoulders and run around saying, “I'm Batman. Come Robin, to the Bat cave.”
22. While walking through the clothing department, ask yourself loud enough for all to hear, “Who buys this crap anyway?!”
23. When an announcement comes over the loud speaker, assume the fetal position and scream “NO! NO! It's those voices again!!!”
24. Walk up to complete strangers and say, “Hi, I haven't seen you in so long.” etc. See if they play along.
25. Try to develop psychic powers, and then use ‘em.
26. Run across the room, tag someone and say “You’re it.” during class.
27. Pretend to communicate with your home planet, during class.
28. Pretend you're flying a jet fighter in the Gulf War, during class.
29. Sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.
30. Walk around with handcuffs and pretend you’ve escaped
31. bring a remote control to class and then get angry when none of the buttons work like they're supposed to.
32. go to the bookstore and start making a fort out of books, when the employees ask if they can help you tell them to work on the south wall.
33. there are invisible ninjas attacking. defend yourself.
34. get some popcorn and go find some hoodie wearers. the hoodies are the baskets.
35. learn the banjo and play the dueling banjos song when people think they're alone

I was in the army for ten years. That's incurable boredom.

Okay people, stand-by to stand-by to stand-by.
Cry, bitch, moan and complain about everything and anything but don't listen to anyone else because you can complain all you want but that doesn't mean I have to listen.
Stand in the doorway of a tent singing the Pinky and the Brain theme song in the pouring rain and realize you know all the words.
Rewrite Green Eggs and Ham as Spread Legs and Slam.

Hours of pressing boredom punctuated by brief moments of intense activity.
Whattya mean that all happened in five seconds?

That's it! The dark matter conundrum unravelled! 80% of the universe is made up of god's secret porn stash!

Best cure for boredom is to take a nice long walk. Not just because you might see something interesting, but because it will kick start your brain again.

Here's some of the things I do when I'm bored:
1- Watch one of your favorite movies but watch it in fast forward.
2- See how many blankets you can tie around your dog, or your neighbors dog without getting horribly bitten.
3- Wear all your clothes inside out for a day. ALL your clothes.
4- Hit on random people on the street.
5- Hit random people on the street.
6- Walk around a busy street pretending to talk on the phone, but hold your wallet against your head instead.
7- Do homework, but write every word phonetically.
8- Decorate your living room, and when people ask you if you did it you just deny it.
9- Burn your coffeetable. Seriously.
10- Buy a book, go back to the store 10 minutes later and return it because you think it smells bad.
11- Make yourself the biggest sandwich in the world.
12- Kill some stuffed animals.
13- Browse the city for hatted people and give every single one a hand.
14- Grow a mustache, by pure force of will.
15- Invent a new color.
16- Dial random numbers on your phone and keep the person on the other end talking for at least five minutes.
17- Pretend your a telemarketeer.
18- Go to your neighbors with two hands full of sugar and ask if you could borrow a cup.
19- Ask your friends if you could tell them a big secret, lean over to them and just whisper: Carrot.
20- play a game on your Xbox/PS/DS but play it with the controller upside down.
The feeling you get, right before you poop.
That's the best feeling in the world.
