I can't say that I heard anything that I liked. None of the mainstream stuff interests me. I did here a bunch of old songs for the first time that I liked, but those were from the eighties-nineties.

Didn't you previously say you were into rap? That's like the mainstream right now. That and hip-hop.

I don't listen to much mainstream stuff, so I havent actually heard much from this year. I'd say the best of what I heard would be the new Iron Maiden Album - A Matter Of Life And Death

Though, I've been meaning to try out the new Jet and some other stuff

I've also recently discovered the album ‘Lemodie’ by ‘Ochre’ and it's BRILLIANT! Great atmosphere, and one of the best openingtracks ever.

Ah, see some really great stuff here. The Automatic, Danger Doom, Gnarls Barkley, RHCP, Mastodon and The Shins are all great.
And Beck - Cellphone's Dead was also a very cool one.

And Tenacious D always rocks ;)

19.Jurassic 5 & Dave Matthews Band - Work It Out

As much as I love the Dave Matthews Band, I must say that the video for this song was bluntly horrible. It's just them jumping on the “Bash Bush” wagon that everyone seems to do. If the video was something like their past efforts, like say either "Crush“ or ”Crash into Me“. I wouldn't be so disappointed.

Ugh, speaking of music videos, that ”Top 40 best music videos of 2006“ list that VH1 had was horrible, Sharkira shaking her ass beats out most of those great videos out this year? What the hell is that? That list was a popularity contest.

As for songs of 2006. I thought Tom Petty's ”Saving Grace“ was excellent as was John Legend's ”Show Me".

I loved the video clip. Well, there's nothing I can say about it besides that I just found it very funny. I'm not that much against Bush, but it can still be funny. If you keep your mind open you can still enjoy political statements and find them interesting without agreeing with them. I just don't have anything with following politics. I did liked Moore's Fahrenheit, but I do not just shut off my brain and go with him simply ‘cause I don’t know a damn thing about it.

And apart from that the song is just great. It always makes my day. But it's more a Jurassic 5-song than a Dave Matthews-song, altough I can still understand you don't like their involvement in this.

And that whole Top 40-thing, I would not know. I don't have that channel. A top 100 song-list of an alternitive Dutch radioprogram declaired The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes to be the best song of 2006 (mot the video). It's a real fine song, but it doesn't deserve a no. 1 position imo.

Best video….. that would be Placebo - Infra-Red, Arctic Monkeys - View from the Afternoon, Keane Atlantic, Jamie Lidell - Multiply (don't know why it's good, but it's just awsome), Gnarls Barkley - Crazy, Tiga - You're Gonna Want Me…….but the best one is…… Tenacious D - Classico!! (by Jhon K.)

Nah, I'm not political or anything. I'm just kinda saddened that they coulda tried something different in their video. Rather it's just the same as all the other artists out there. Both the Dave Matthews Band and Jurassic 5 has some pretty good creative videos under their belt, this one just sinks into the crowd, sadly.

(I kinda like something that makes me wonder, like Crash into Me.)

I think Jurassic 5 is pretty good in my book, they have some great stuff. As I love the Dave Matthews Band. This song is pretty good, it's a nice mix that differs in both artist's music styles. It's a pretty funky song, I just rather hear it without watching the video.

How about a little Nine Inch Nails? With Teeth was a fantastic album that grew on me with every listen. If you don't believe me, check out the songs “Beside You In Time” and “Right Where It Belongs”

Those are absolutly great songs, and I love NIN, BUT they were released in 2005 so that's why nobody mentioned them.

I …see… Huh, has it been that long? Well then… so as to save some face…

Tool- Right in Two
Gnarles Barkley- Crazy and Just a Thought
My Chemical Romance- probably the best “new” band.
The Raconteurs- Steady as She Goes- one of the catchiest songs I think I've ever heard.

Honourable mention to Nofx for Wolves in Wolves Clothing.
