Zekey, why exactly do you have to say something like that? It's rude, and this “Eagle” hasn't done anything in this thread to make you say such things. This thread was intended for a discussion about “Hannibal Rising” and you completely killed it by saying something like that. I have seen some other threads where you are bad mouthing people, and just going around with a generally bad attitude.

Drunkduck doesn't need people like you, so buck your ideas up or get out of here.

Anyway, back on topic, I agree. Hannibal Rising, in comparison to the previous Hannibal films was a complete disappointment. I found it rather slow in places, and it often avoided the brutality some of it's predecessors had.
Please, please, you give me too little credit.

There was really no need for a comment like this, zekeybomb. Eagle just stated his (her?) opinion and did it in a rational and civilized way. Everyone has a different opinion and is entitled to it. Ironically, you are acting like the 12 year old here.

I think zekeybomb is actually 12…At least that is what he/she said in one of his/her other posts.

Anyway…I haven't seen it yet…But, I'm not suprised you were disappointed. Thomas Harris, the creator of “Hannibal Lector” is a freakin' sell-out. To have created one of the most fantastic of creepsome individuals and then to pimp it out the way he has, I am sorely disappointed in him.

Red Dragon was one of the first “scary” books I ever read. The first movie, “Manhunter” was okay. (I know one girl who looooves it!) The remake, with Ed Norton…Mmmmm, Ed Norton….was AWESOME!!! It exceeded my expectations.

Then book wise, Silence of the Lambs…Rocked. Then the movie…Rocked.

Then in ‘99 (I know ’cause I was working in a book store at the time) “Hannibal” came out…I was soooo excited. I hadn't been that excited about a book since the sequel to “Gone With the Wind” (Which blew donkey balls.) I felt that “Hannibal” was phoned in and I was glad to see Jodie Foster was smart enough not to be in the clap-trap movie that spawned from it's trite pages. (Even Gary Oldman couldn't save it for me, can't blame Sir Hopkins…He was the best part of the movie, and who wouldn't want to play that sadistic character, it's like I can't blame George Clooney for butchering Batman, who would say no to playing Batman?)

Then “Hannibal Rising.” I didn't read it…and as I said, I haven't seen it. I will…When I've rented everything else and am desperate for entertainment.

Harris has at least two more “Hannibal Lore” novels comin' out…Create a new character MAN…You have exhausted this one.

(But, “Hannibal Rising” previews looked great…But…then again, I have been fooled by “great” previews before…)

I heard the story behind HR.

Another person was talking about working on a Hannibal prequil, and the original creator rushed to get one out before him and that was HR.

And it shows.
