Living on a tropical island has its potholes. Right now it's 90+ degrees fahrenheit HOT!!! In fact, it's so hot that when I open my door I feel the heat literally rush into the room. I'd gladly trade a few degrees (maybe like 10 or so) for some snow.

So how are you all enjoying your winter?

I miss my childhood home in the mountains. We got snow starting in late October usually until mid-March. My parents visited that house yesterday and told me it's five degrees right now. I love snow.

It rarely snowed where I went to college. LOTS of biting cold days with freezing rain and sheets of ice that made it nearly impossible to walk, but no snow. I just moved in June, and it doesn't get cold enough to snow here. Close, but nope. I haven't even had to wear a jacket outside yet.

Why hello there fellow tropical islander -3-

True, we don't have snow. But at least we don't have to clean our driveways by shoveling the snow. Besides, I could never stand the cold. I can't imagine myself in a place full of snow and be okay with it.

It gets really cold and ugly in TN, snow if you're lucky.

There is no benefit of living here. :(

I'm in Australia. So it's summer here. And it never snows anyway. Except for the occasional snow in the Blue Mountains that is…

Currently, near Chicago, it is 0.7 degrees out. When I was working outside yesterday, it was -7. The air was cold enough that if I breathed it directly and too deeply, I began coughing.

I've taken a liking to snow the past few years though. The white landscape, the extremely cold temperatures. There's just something incredibly sterile and yet beautiful about the environment under these conditions.

I live in the valley in East Tennessee, and over here we've been just experiencing tons of rain and barely any snow.

So much for a White Christmas. T^T

We had snow in Milwaukee back in November. And as much as a creature of winter and everything that I am, I'm kind of sick of it by now. I'm ready for it to be warm enough for me to be out during the day enjoying it rather than being blasted by the wind. Speaking of which, I would gladly trade you 90 degree weather for getting rid of the windchill and cold in Iowa where I'm at now. There isn't a more wretched place to spend the winter if you ask me. My truck is frozen to the ground with a 5 inch thick layer of ice.

I live in Winnipeg. The other day it was -45C with the windchill and yes, I walked the twenty minutes to school through piles of snow. I'm also quite small all around, so I don't take well to the cold.
So if any of you complain about not having a white christmas or any of that, I might get violent.

Snow is evil! Did you people learn nothing from The Chronicles of Narnia? It's all the work of the White Witch and should be avoided at all costs!

I mean, okay, it looks pretty for a few minutes after it's fallen but then it all turns to brown sludge or hard ice, just waiting to cause accidents, close roads and disrupt rail services. At least that's the UK experience!

Give me warm weather any time. I'd even be in favour of global warming except the UK is apparently one of the places that will actually get colder when global temperatures soar!

We get rain, hail, sleet, and wind, but no snow. Even though our nuts are freezing.

I'm not meant for the snow! Plus, we don't have heat in our house. I can't wait until I move back to the land of 60 degree winters and azalias in February. I'll take 100+ summers any day. Just keep that weird white junk away from me!

Hooray! A good point of global warming!

Seriously, I hate hot weather. A side effect of global warming no one mentions is the increase in overweight balding sweaty men in shorts and open-toed sandals.

I went to Berlin recently and it snowed two of the days I was there. It was wonderful, bitingly cold but beautiful. I got back to England and it's looked the same for the past 3 months- grey.

It never snows at Christmastime here (well, it did snow a little once on Christmas eve like… 5 years ago).

We get one lovely snow in early November, and a crummy one in late January, and that's it. In the Midlands, anyway.

That's all England needs really, when it snows here everyone freaks out and the trains shut down and everyone decides they need to be on the roads so there's traffic for hours, and you can't get your pizza delivered. >:[

Yesterday it was almost 10 celsius! Today it's around 6-8. Doesn't even drop to zero. We had snow for about 4-5 hours about a month ago since it was plus temperatures, then it went below 0 for a few nights and finally bounced up to the 5+ range. I'm expecting it to get colder in january or february, as it usually goes that way.

True. It'd be really easy to conquer England, all you have to do is wait for it to snow and the entire country switches itself off. Violently.

Just once.
In a place where it doesn't normally snow or there's no guarantee of snow, too.

I don't mind the snow as much now. The first year in Colorado really pissed me off with the blizzard, but now it's not so bad. Where I was living previously to where I moved back to, the winters were very harsh…

I wouldn't trade all of this for California again, though…I hated waking up to 95 on Christmas.

I like snow and all, but I hate it when it comes because that usally means that its going to be getting finger numbing cold soon. >_<

But the snow over here in Ohio right now isn't really sticking. It snows, but its been raining so much that any of the white stuff laying around is being melted away. Not sure if we'll get the white christmas or not this year, we'll just have to wait and see. ^_^

Psh, who needs snow? The holiday songs are skewed to places with snow. “White Christmas”? Boo. I'd rather be hanging out in nice, warm weather and not have to shovel my way out of my house. And I get to save money since I don't have to buy heavy winter clothes.

;__; Who am I kidding? Snow would be cool to have during the winter. Last year, it got all hot and dry in southern California and made me kinda sick-ish. Not too fun. And then I accidentally left my bathroom window open and the crazy winds blew a crapload of dirt in, so I spent Christmas morning cleaning up my bathroom. D:

Then you'd be better off in the Southern hemisphere, it's like that most places here this time of year. I doubt you ever get many chrissies that hot in California. Though it would be worse because of the contrast.
