I Met My Lover/Best Friend/Spouse On Drunk Duck

Yes but it seems people still find love (Or groceries a la AQua_ng or an STD a la Midge) in the most interesting places. Drunk Duck seems to be no different. It is the 21st Century and people are finding love on the Internet all the time. Although I am sorry about what happened to skoolmunkee. How horrible.

A community this big, I know there are some other couples or good friends out there - siblings? That's cool too.

Best Internet friend? Really????? WOW.

I doubt that I will ever meet Ms. Right. Unless she sneaks up behind and clubs me to knock me out, then drag me off to her lair…

Doesn't matter anyway. I'm way too old for many of the women here anyway (was born in 1971).

You'd think so… But actually the average ages of the DD user base is generally a bit older than people assume.

I think my wife would be against me dating anyone from the Duck, but I have made some decent friends here.

You were much nicer to this guy than I would have been, blntmaker *rolls her eyes*.

I am a bit shy and I am a pretty busy person with the school year on the horizon - but since we're talking Johnny Rocket's down the street from my job, then you're on! See you in the Valley sometime.

Dutch :).

I live three miles away from that one! You're on, Mister Man XD!

I've met a few people I talk to on MSN through here, so I've made a few friends. Would like to meet more though.

As for lovers, I met my girlfriend through onlinecomics.net and we were going to do a comic here before we got together. Does that count?

I have made many good friends through Drunk Duck. And with Off Hours being a DD community comic, we who have been developing it together have become a community of friends within this community of friends. I have friends from all over the U.S. and many nations around the world – just from DD.

I realize that's the nature of the internet but I never connected with anyone besides smkinoshita (Super Temps) at Keenspot/Comic Genesis, so this is a tremendous improvement!

I have known people who met and got married over the internet and are still together, so I don't knock it. I just happened to be blessed to meet my soulmate in person here in my hometown, through a mutual friend.

Friends make all the difference, regardless of whether you meet them online or offline. B)

My best friend has an account here at Drunk Duck, but I don't think that counts.

I haven't made many lifelong friends so much as “friendly acquaintances”. People I'd invite to a party, but not ask to help me move. :)

But ooooo… I've definitely made enemies. That's a different thread, I guess. lol!

I'd help you move if you provide a proper truck with a ramp and none of that pickup truck nonsense. And provide the drinks.

See?? The demands start already. If you were a true friend it wouldn't matter if I had a wheelbarrow and a can of diet Coke. lol!

Nah, a true friend brings his own moving truck along with movers and then sits with you on the porch while they move everything.

Of course not, you offer your help.

Not that it takes a “true friend” to do that. Last time I moved, neighbors whose names I didn't even know came by to help out. – Maybe it's an ingrained chivalry or something. No woman has ever offered me unsolicited help, but guys do it all the time.

Well, I'm “the friend with the huge van” so I always get asked. :(

I'm usually too nice to say no. :/

I thought a true friend let's you crash on their FUTON when their girlfriend/wife kicks you out?

True, people meet on the ‘net all the time. Had a friend met her guy and within six months she married him - did we think it was bizarre? Yeah. But these days its not so weird. Just the world we live in I suppose.

Still, to meet HERE at DrunkDuck and have a lasting relationship because you have something in common like comics is pretty cool. Surely comic lovers and anti-social behavior don’t go hand in hand.

Making enemies? WOW - you haven't been threatened have you SpANG?

I suppose Top Drawer could have used a PERSONAL ADs section a la CRAIGSLIST.

I didn't meet him over DD, but I met the guy I love over another site. He's Merrywhite Jenkins on here. Too bad he lives half-way ‘cross the friggen world. :/

And I’ve met several people here (and other sites) that I consider truer friends than the ones I have IRL.

No, no I do not get out of my house and hang out. Shut up.
