I was going to do a real halloween strip this year, but im having trouble inserting a screenshot into a panel and not having it look like complete crap.

Unlike these guys who, y'know, have their shit together.

any suggestions for how i can accomplish this?

Hrrk… I got a bit of vomit in my mouth after looking at that…
Not quite :)
Um, I don't see the big deal… It's pretty damn simple, especially if you use an example like that one. And it seems that you're talking about combining photos with a comic and not screenshots. Just paste it in, give it a border, some text, whatever. I've seen much better examples of people actually combining photos with their comics, like this one by Hamorhage. But you maight be after a more Terry Gilliam Montey Python style combo, check out Terry's Python animations if you can find any, he's the king of that style.

no, not like that. god, that… i only WISH i could do that on a computer.

no, im talking about how, say, in newscasts, they'll put up a whole document, then bring forward specific quote overlayed on the background of the whole document.

maybe i should do that part first, then work the panel around it?

my major problem has been arranging the monologue so it doesnt become unreadable at the lower resolution.
