Everyone has an iPod, even Bill Gates. So what are your most played songs on your iPod?

Mine are:

1. Hole - Northern Star 129x's
2. Yo La Tengo - Black Flowers 87x's
3. U2 - Miracle Song 82x's
4. The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've) 78x's
5. Rachael Yamagata - Worn Me Down (Remix) 77x's

What are yours?!

Slither - Velvet Revolver 34x
Mr. Brownstone - Guns n' Roses 27x
My Michelle - Guns n' Roses 26x
Dirge Inferno - Cradle of Filth 25x
Right Next Door to Hell - Guns n' Roses again 25x

These numbers probably aren't right, I usually get to the point at the end with 3 seconds of nothing left and then skip to the next song, or push back, and so it doesn't get counted. Because I know that I've heard Immigrant Song more than any of those.

I don't have an iPod. I bought a media device that doesn't suck and then try to make up for it with useless features like counting how often I listen to songs.

Steve Jobs
On 9 April 2007 Apple sold its one-hundred millionth iPod, making the biggest selling digital music player of all time.

You're probably right… I'm sure 100 million or so people are wrong.

Whether people buy it or not doesn't make it a quality piece of hardware. Everyone in the world could buy one and it would still be a piece of shit compared to other less expensive products on the market. Four iPods that didn't make it past a year don't lie. Any device that's purposely built to die just as the warranty runs out is a piece of garbage as far as I'm concerned.

100 million people may have been suckered into buying an iPod by Apple's flashy advertising, but I never will again.

I got by just fine with an MP3-playing CD player. I'd just burn about 150 songs I like onto the CD and let it play. It was quite convenient, and CD's are cheap! Plus, the player only cost me $30 and would run off of 2 AA batteries for up to four months by loading songs into RAM rather than spinning the disc all the time.

Recently I got cell phone, and it plays MP3s, so that's what I've been using lately. But if I were to buy a dedicated MP3 player, I'd probably go with something besides an iPod. There are cheaper brands that have comparable features.

It sorta reminds me of the Spider-Man 3 theory. It's making a shit-load of money, but is it actually good? Depends on the person I guess…

Ignoring the comparative qualities of iPods vs other mp3 players, I think the point of the thread was to list your most-played songs. :) I'm sure non-iPod folks can at least give us some guesses.

these play counts are from itunes so when I listen to my headphones (I have a cheap mp3 player) it doesn't count. this is just how many times I've listened to these songs at compy. (compy= my computer)

heh-heh…
this is kind of embarrassing.
#1 most played~ Shissou by Last Alliance. 2218 times. uh… I listen to songs on repeat.
#2~ Au revoir by Gackt. 373 times. although I know it's more because there were a few days when I wore out like four batteries listening to it on my mp3 player.
#3~ Love Rhymes with Hideous Car Wreck ~ 120 times (gee I didn't even know I liked that song that much!!)
#4~ Another Sunny Day by Belle and Sebastian~ 92 times
#5~ When I fall in love by Nat King Cole~ I love this song. 88 times.

the saddest thing of all? I was listening to my #1 most played song one time and my dog jumped on my computer and reset the play count. so it's actually higher than that. o_o

yeah I'm hard-core.

I own a Creative Zen Vision:M. It is, in my opinion, rather nicer than an iPod, with the added bonus that its parent company is not always trying to think of new ways to squeeze me for cash. I bought it fairly recently, and I listen to a lot of different music, so I don't know how accurate this list is, but this is what the thing has under “Most Popular” (the thing doesn't tell me how many times each of these have been played, so bear with me here):

1. Peter Bjorn and John - “Amsterdam”
2. They Might Be Giants - “AKA Driver”
3. Andrew Bird - “Imitosis”
4. Beck - “Nicotine & Gravy”
5. Of Montreal - “A Sentence Of Sorts In Kongsvinger”

This list surprises me greatly. (Although none of them are bad songs. They're great. I just wasn't expecting them to come out on top. I listen to albums far more often than individual songs, anyways, so maybe that's what threw the thing off.)

I didn't forget, it just never happened. Creative Labs sued Apple for using registered names and patented technology and interfaces. Apple was forced to settle for the amount of $100 million. The settlement also allowed Apple to use the Zen patent, but it gives them no claim over Creative's devices. It just means Apple doesn't have to change their interface or rename the Nano. Apple winning awards for being innovative is kind of a joke when they seem to be constantly fighting lawsuits for stealing ideas. I can think of three off the top of my head going on right now, two involving the iPod.

1.) Jumping Jack Flash, 23x.
2.) Without a Fight, 18x
3.) Smoke on the Water, 15x
4.) Cowboy Bebop Opening, 15x
5.) Gimme Shelter, 11x

I'm not sure why I played the Cowboy Bebop Opening or Without a Fight so much. They're nowhere near my favorite songs. Something by Jurassic 5 will probably end up on that list after a while.

Some guy pretending to act like Michael Jackson, not Weird Al, but equally as funny.
So, let me get this straight: You watched the entire world crumble before your eyes, the entire race of Humanity being smashed by the terrible foot of the Lord, everything you once known and loved being destroyed right infront of you. And all you can think about is jamming a fucking lime into a coconut?
