Giant cloud? Ok I freaked out during Y2k, and I even got a little curious during that whole ‘asteroid killing us’ thing. But a dust cloud? Come on now, I'll bet you any amount of money that's a load of trash.

Yea scientists are retarded. They took a vote and Pluto is now a ‘dwarf’ planet. Prejudice anyone?

Did anyone watch the Colbert Report last night? Apparently Pluto IS a planet.

Consider that “planet” is just a word with only a vauge deffinition.
Also, consider that out of the 4000 people who went to debate Pluto's status, only 420 were left on the last day, and they're the ones who voted on the new definition.
One of the reasons more people weren't there at the end was because they'd already agreed on a definition that would end up with 12 planets in the solar system, including Pluto. Voting was just a formality and they all had to get back to their own lives, home and back to work, away from a boring meeting and away from paying lots of money at hotels… Basically, the vote was hijaked by those few who wated all the rest out.

By the original meaning of the word “planet” and the tradition of 80 years, Pluto still IS a Planet. If they get their act together, the astronomers might make it an “offical” planet again. Untill then it still IS a planet even by the “new” definition, just a dwarf one.

This reminds me of then they decided tomatoes were a fruit. In my mind they'll always be vegetables. I don't care what science calls them.

Saying Pluto is not a planet is like telling your son that he was adopted.

Even though it's right, it's just not nice.

Ha! In that case it wasn't so much science, as an international trade agreement.

We'll all be dead in 8 years anyways, so who cares?

http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/wwn/20050912/112653720013.html

OMG!!! Global warming will kill us all! And there's also the possibility of mars crashing into us! Ooo, the tides are slowly coming in to drown us all! Someone will be stupid enough to explode us all with the atomic bomb! Better watch out, because the sun will become old and cave in itself (in 2,000,000,000 years!) GASPIES!!!

Meaning, life sucks, and we're all going to die anyway.

So… about Pluto…

Why get so mad about Pluto? It's a thingy that floats around in space like the rest of the other… thingies.

The scientists don't need to know EVERYTHING… They're heartless, and would rip a human in two just to find out something useless.

Oh god everyone is going to die! Did you know there was a button that could blow up the world? I pressed it at least 200 times and nothing happened! Not unless we're all dead and are somehow in heaven. Wait, how are we talking to the people that are in hell?

That's awesome!!! I'll use that next time I have another useless science quiz on things I already know about and don't care about!! :D

But I don't know why scientists actually debate about Pluto. Why is it so important…? It's too many miles away to even worry about. We can only reach Mars (was it?) and they can freak out about it when they can actually reach it.

Well, there IS a reason to worry about Pluto, because of it's orbit, it will, one day, collide with the earth.

But, what with the space cloud that's coming to kill us, meteros that could crash into us, aliens that want to destory us, and humanity's inhumanity to humanity, frankly, Pluto colliding with us is the least to worry about…

…Now if only my Volvo would stopy playing Mick Jagger songs.

I know it isn't necessary, but the dust cloud's source is the Weekly World News…

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/comments/3593/

Which means we only have to worry about global warming, the giant meteor, spontaneous combustion and the rapture.

im confused, is this a sarcasm thread? well, pluto is not considerd a planet, i think it's considered a dwarf planet or something like that. and with that inclusion, the neighboring planets near pluto are being added as well.

If pluto is a planet, then you have to classify other large frozen mass of that size a planet as well. Meaning we either have 8 or more than 9 planets in our solar system.

.: Kennedy0 :.

Why do people say that like it's a bad thing? More planets = Bigger Solar System. Bigger System = Better System. Better System = Us getting to brag when we enter the intergalactic council. Those jerks on The Jhar'upf system with their measly 3 planets are gonna be soooo jealous
