probably the best sci-fi show IMO that was cancelled prematurely
it had great characters, awesome special effects, killer villans, yet was funny and lighthearted at times

plus, they had some sexy australian women in that show

who else is/was a fan of farscape?

When it first came on I wouldn't watch it because it was made in Australia, and Australian SciFi usually sux… And then I heard Disney was involved somehow too and that turned me off even more.

But I caught a few marathon repeats during the day a few years after it first came out and it was really, really good. I was extremely impressed, by the sexy female characters of course, but also by the great costumes, good acting, great stories, mature plots (not the safe baby stuff you find in almost all other TV SciFi), GREAT sets with very smart use of locations as well, and the use of brilliant anamatronic puppets and models rather than a full reliance on cheap shitty CGI. Even the make up was top notch and cleverly used with characters, unlike the “just give the aliens funny foreheads and nose wrinkles” attitude with Star Trek, or “all aliens must be bald and have no noses” theme in Babylon 5.

It was a shame it ended like it did, cut off suddenly like that. But at least they gave it a good send off and a fantastic ending with those TV movies.

Chiana was the best, followed by Aeon Sung (or however you spell their names)

Some bad points:
Repetitive scenes…
*They were usually always running or walking fast and purposely up and down the corridors of their ship while talking tough and trying to get away from some invader or running to it in every third scene of the later series.
A bit overboard on the violence…
*They'd always have some violent interaction with each other that would result in them pulling weapons and threatening to fire, but they'd never, ever do it. The next moment they'd be best of friends again. Every single time.
*Rigel would be loved one second and then savagely beaten or tortured the next.

And so on… It was always well done though, even when repetitive. The actors did their jobs exceptionally.

“crackers don't matter”
one of thier funniest episodes. the crew goes even more crazier.

i gotta say, scorpius is one of the greatest villans.
he's funny and fierce at the same time. plus i like how he can go from a civilized whiny voice to a gutteral one

Crackers don't matter. :)

I've meet Virginia Hey (Zaan) and she's very cool to talk to. End of the month I'm going to the Emerald City Comicon and meeting Lani Tupu (Crais), Gigi Edgley (Chiana), Wayne Pygram (The Lord Your God Scorpius). Least that's the plan.

While I loved Farscape, I think the loss of Firefly was worse.

i like the farscape actors too, they are pretty open to their fans…not like other scifi actors.
