Like, believe in them like the tooth fairy or Santa Claus or something? Or think they're a good idea?

Clearly they're not imaginary :) As for whether they're a good idea or not, that all depends on a lot of factors. I have seen them work on two occasions, but like most attempts at a romantic relationship, I have seen them fail on many more. So, yeah, I guess I believe in them.

I believe that Long Distance relationships exist.

We do. The search up top searches the forums too.

They're gonna work. As long as you retain your market value… and hopefully nobody ‘better’ (guys with bigger muscles, more suave, more money, etc… or gals with bigger boobs… lol) comes along.

My friend got married to a guy she met on Evercrack. She's in USA, he's in Britain. He has sinced moved to USA now.

He's actually a good catch for her; he's a lithe guy with 1 of those mild British manners. Good-looking enough to be in a bad teen movie.

I can't understand a word he says.

i don't believe long distance relationship work. i think if you begin dating that way, they have a longer chance of survival, but in order to have an intimate relationship…well you have to be intimate. eventually, you have to see the person you are involved in, regardless of who you are. i think they may work for a short period of time, maybe a couple years if you have a strong, mature relationship, but not a great idea.
from my experience i have never seen one work out.

I've been in one that held up pretty well. We basically saw eachother once a month, for a whole weekend, or a week when it was during a holiday. The reason it ultimately failed was because she had met some other guy who she fell in love with, so she wanted to break up with me rather than hurting my feelings even more by cheating on me.

I think that, if both people believe in it to work, it can work. It'll just need some tlc. I can't believe I just said tlc. But, cliché or no, it's true.

I normally don't but I ended up in one and now I've moved in with the guy. So I guess I would have to now.

I feel if you're really meant to be together, you will be together no matter what.

From my experiences, its extremely difficult. I hate talking on the phone. All of my e-mails seem like cold business letters. If I go stay with them or they stay with me after an extended leave, any new quirks or strange things that I do are much more obvious to them. Its tough.

Long distance relationships suck. I have been attempting to keep one for a while now (I have no choice, seeing as I'm deployed) and so far it seems to be holding up, but only time will tell.

Just a month or so until it's a normal relationship again!

I hope so I've been in one for 2 years come Saturday and we Mercs together. She draws and I writes it. So if it don't work out now, Mercs will end and I just can't let tht happen.

And that should tell you how my relationship works. Sad ain't it?

If both people in the relationship, wants it to work, it will!!!
I have been in a few of them; being in the Air Force and deployed half the time made it such….
Any how, the girl in the last long distant relationship, is now my wife… of 8 years and counting! If you put your minds, hearts, and souls in to the relationship, you can withstand ANYTHING; Yuki (my wife) and I broke through the language barrier, a crazy parent, and a long time apart while I was deployed, and we are still very much in love today….
So, the bottom line, if you want it, you'll get it, no matter what it is in life!

…There was a guy that I fell head-over-heels in love with last year. When I spilled my guts and told him how I felt, he said he didn't like long distance relationships. Mind you, I only lived about two hours away from the guy, and I was over at his place every weekend (he lived with a married couple as a roommate). So I didn't count the distance between each other as “long-distance”. I thought this was a cop-out. Anyway, he led me on for six months. Ultimately, I discovered from someone else that he was a swinger, with the married couple he lived with. …I haven't seen him or spoken to him since.

Sorry, that doesn't really answer the question. I just wanted to let that out. ;)

i think they can work, but only if it's obvious that the reunion is somewhere in the future. and by reunion i mean “long-distance” permanently becomes “short-distance”. and i think they'll only work if the love is true enough. bah, that sounded mushy. i'm too childish for this “lovey-dovey” talk.

LOL, funny. I never thought of that. And yet, it's true.

You ever thought of the fact that Ariel was 16 when she got married & had her kid? Call me an old fogey, but did the folks at Disney think that through? Also, did they realize that in the sequel, the kid she had was like nine years old, but Ariel stayed sixteen? ….Do mermaids never age or something?!?

Oh, and I think Disney is the evil Empire, but I've always liked “Emperor's New Groove” for comedy and “Sleeping Beauty” for style/design.

there are quite a few disney movies i love, but they're not your “typical” disney movies of course. one thing i don't get is why they take so much credit for the nightmare before christmas?

Because it's Disney, the evil Empire. They take credit for capturing Saddam Hussein.
