The town gathered around the gallows. The king called for silence. “It has come to my attention that we have been infiltrated by demons. For your protection we will be lynching those of you who act suspicious. ” the king squinted at Zeph. “Ahem! So. We‘ve gathered the votes. And today we will be haaaaaaaaaaaanging… ZEPH!” Zeph scratched his head. The king turned to his guards “Retrieve the hangee please. ” The guards made their way to Zeph and escorted him to the gallows. “Any last words?” the king said giving him a dirty look. “Eh. Harks just jealous because I won‘t read his parchments.” “Not resisting?” Zeph scratched his head. “Nope”.

He made his way to the noose. At that minute Hark climbed onto the gallows. “STOP! I am the dark elf lord!” He said waving his arms. The king sighed “Get down Hark. You‘re being crazy again. You‘re a cat not an elf.” “I HAVE TO PROTECT THE TOWN FROM MYSELF!” Hark pushed Zeph from the gallows and rapped the noose around his neck. The town gasped. Zeph spat dirt from his mouth as he lay on the ground beside the gallows.

Not only is he able to pick an innocent and kill him instead, he's able to use this ability twice.

Do I need to overstate how impossible this is for the town?

I was thinking that perhaps the clues would be clearer this game and that it would be possible, early on, to double-lynch provided that a townie majority remained and voter turnout was strongly encouraged. If those lynches turn out acceptably and the evil party has inactive members, there's a slim chance. Come on, for once you've actually lived this long, so don't give up now XD

Yes, yes. We're all aware of the shadow magician and his extra life.

And the silent assassin, who's able to ignore protected players.

And the deadly winter, who's able to kill twice.

And the godfather, who can kill with his lynch cancel ability and use it more then once.

Hark said that zeph was the shadow magician, without announcing who fed him that information.

Obviously, the person who told him that was also able to backstab him by dooming him in tonights lynch. It could mean that he lied to Hark and that zeph is an innocent but since the shadow magician also happens to be an equivalent of a veteran, who can survive lynches, then I don't see why he needed to lie about his identity. As far as I'm concerned, zeph is the shadow magician.

We lost the paranoid and instead got a role who can survive night attacks and announce the identity of the attacker. We don't have a veteran either. The only edge that the town got was a 100% certain pro-town leadership. That's good, since it will help unify the town but it's not likely to help much if the demons can easily win the game in a single move (which is likely to be done tonight).

There's no fun in a game where the mafia can just bull rush itself through the town and there's nothing that the town can do about it. The game is supposed to be hard for both sides. The mafia is supposed to win via strategy, not force. Granted, whoever's leading the bad guys, this time is doing a good job at it, by pulling the “inactive first round” move, thus leaving us guessing in the wind during the first lynch. However, I don't see the point in strategyzing like that when you can just press the “I win” button and be done with it.

I mean seriously, against powers like that, how can the good guys win?
They not only render the good guys main method of attack ineffective, they actually turn it around to kill good guys instead!
People seem to dwell under the misconception that making the bad guys have more and more amazing powers and more and more abilities that kill townies each turn makes the game better.

But I don't get why Hark would opt not to disclose who told him that, since it's presumably an inside source who could be given up as well. He could also have safely told rokulily if his source was a townie who was privy to an information leak. It'd be only logical to give them both up since he'd have doomed himself already by talking; we could have double-lynched them early on or Roku would have known the mole, but did he tell anyone?

It's just that Hark has a known history of arbitrarily making stuff up, and if I were the other side I'd take advantage of that by letting it lead townie suspicion and skew clue interpretation for a couple of cycles until I had the majority. I'm not saying Zeph isn't guilty, it all just seems too convenient… :\

I'm finally back from my mini-vacation. I had a lot of fun. And I bonded with my classmates. We went to a festival, rode four-wheelers, shot skeet, had s'mores, and watched classic Disney movies…and we were in the middle of nowhere, so I had a good view of the stars…anywho. Back to mafia.

Sorry about today. Ive been relying mostly on open wifi. Which has been a massive mistake. The dark elf lord used the ability on hark to cause him to lynch himself instead. Also the collective leg has been ripped off. Also. Uh… its my first day?
Theres a lot of inactivity so im covering for that.

I think since the town seems to screwed no matter what we should just lynch everyone at once!
