So what's your opinion? I think it's man-made, personally.

Why do they all just stare at it from half a mile away? Shouldn't someone… I dunno… walk towards it? See if there's some guy down there with a flood light?

My opinion is… There's nothing much to do in that little place, is there?

“wow maw! Lookit tha little lite! Innit spay-shul? Leek won o' them day-o-monds!” lol!

I'm joking of course. I just wonder why none of them walked up the hill to see what it really was… Even a telescope or binoculars would've helped, wouldn't they?

Exactly. I was wondering the same thing.

Probably not when it's that dark. However I so agree with the statement: JUST WALK TOWARDS IT YA DUM DUMS!
Those were my two cents.

It is nothing but distant car headlights/taillights seen through a small vantage point.

There is nothing supernatural or mysterious about it, and MSNBC really have no business putting such a shoddy exercise at reporting on the air.

I found the truth in about 5 seconds through a quick Google, why would seasoned reporters have difficulty? Answer: The truth doesn't sell, while pandering to the supernaturally-inclined is good for ratings.

Yes, in the link I provide they state that with binoculars, they can see the outline of the car the headlights belong to.

There's a similar phenomenon in Britain which was often mistaken for a UFO. However, it was a crystal formation on a cliffside. Only from certain angles does it appear as a light.

If you walk towards it, it disappears. This headlight phenomenon is very common across the world and anywhere you hear stories of phantom carriages, cars and trains or lamp carrying ghosts it is probably this phenomenon.

It kind of reminds me of Moody's ghost in Indiana. That legend says that if you flash your headlights 3 times along a certain stretch of road in Rensselaer and wait a bit, you'll see a light flicker and start to come towards you. This is supposed to be the ghost of a farmer who died (I don't remember the whole story, but the flashing lights bit was a prearranged signal). I've seen so many ghost shows where they go out there and start exclaiming “I have have no idea where the light could be coming from!” When there's a highway just across the corn field, lol.

that could be a hologram for all I know.

So eventually, something like a fake alien invasion can be staged. Now that's even scarier than the Al Quaeda and the Russians combined.

We need a new boogieman!!!
