New RP Ideas?

I have many ideas! We could even do it from the views of different parties! Like imagine, you are a hero, group of paladins or something, you raid a goblin settlement for gold and loot to help fund your quest. But then, view it from the eyes of a young goblin warrior who witnesses his family and friends slaughtered by this group of people wearing shining armor, who aparently have no reason to attack you or your village.

What you got against British punks boy?
Also zombies?
Why do zombies have to be in everything you hijack?
And no you are not gonna be the leader.
And Noone cares about “cussin”!

Hijack? I don't understand. And I don't have anything against the british, just thought it would be interesting putting punks from London type of style in an enemy, because they are no doubt thougher than America's rich kid punks. No on minds cussing? Good, I'll put it in later, maybe for what was a twin utopia in the beginning, but then fell to the undead. And I ain't trying to be leader, this is Zeph's project, and it remains his project.

I think there should be classes:

Acrobats
Hard to hit, medium hp, fast attacks, medium strength attacks.
Ability to sneak up to opponents, steal, climb trees and walls.
Not able to wear metal armor.

Berserkers
Easy to hit, high hp, medium attacks, strong attacks.
Ability to break doors, barrels, stuff.
Able to wear any armor.

Will users
medium hard to hit, low hp, slow attacks, weak attacks.
Ability to cast strong offensive and defensive spells.
Not able to wear any armor.

———————————————————————–

Party leaders: The party leader decides what action is next, all the other players must:
- Comply, do what the PL says.
or
- Leave the party.
or
- Challenge the PL to a duel, if you win you become the next PL. These duels have no effect on in-game hp.

At the start of every campaign the Lawful good character becomes PL, if there are more than one all the True Paladins fight each other. These duels have no effect on in-game hp.

A PL can appoint another character to be PL.

There can only be two PL duels per campaign, These can only be started if a good reason can be given.

———————————————————————–

Alignment: Pro's and cons of alignments:

- Lawful good (True Paladins)
Characters that believe in the power of good and law.
Pro's:
- Always starts as leader of the party.
- Gets an attack bonus against evil characters.

Con's:
- Can't kill good characters.
- Can't steal.

- Neutral good (Saints)
Characters that believe in balance.
Pro's:
- Gets an attack bonus against evil characters.
- Gets a small hp bonus at the end of the fight for every character he protects.

Con's:
- Can't steal from good characters.
- Can kill anyone except neutral good characters.
- Has to roll to protect every weaker character in his party every time that character is targeted. Protecting means taking up a part of the damage when the weaker character is hit.

- Chaotic good (Rebels)
Characters that believe in the power of good.
Pro's:
- Can kill anyone as long as it is for good.

Con's:
- Can't steal from good characters.
- Can't make any evil actions, choosing to do so results in insanity the rest of the campaign.

- Lawful neutral (Citizen Spawns)
Characters that believe in the power of the law.
Pro's:
- Get big attack bonuses when following the PL's orders.
- Can change alignment mid game.
- Can kill anyone.

Con's:
- Can't steal.
- Can't challenge the PL to a duel.

- True neutral (Leafs)
Characters that believe in neutrality.
Pro's:
- Can steal.
- Won't be targeted by any True, Lawful or Chaotic neutral NPC's.
- Can't be controlled by other characters or NPC's.

Con's:
- Can kill anyone except neutral good and true neutral characters.
- Must pick the weakest side in a campaign with multiple different alignment parties.

- Chaotic neutral (Coin tossers)
Characters that believe in themselves.
Pro's:
- Can steal.
- Can kill anyone.
- Can't be ambushed, always gets first strike.

Con's:
- Has to flip a coin twice during every campaign at two times of his choosing. When called badly the Coin tosser flips again to decide if:
The coin tosser loses half his hp.
or
The coin tosser needs to pick a party member to lose half his hp.

When called right the first time needs to flip again too to see if:
He replenishes all his health.
or
Nothing happens.

- Lawful evil (Tide gliders)
Characters that believe in themselves and the law.
Pro's:
- Can kill anyone.
- Gets an attack bonus against good characters.
- Gets an attack nonus against the PL.

Con's:
- Can't steal if good characters are in his party.

- Neutral evil (Rat minds)
Characters that believe in themselves.
Pro's:
- Can steal.
- Can kill anyone.
- Can roll every fight to be ‘invisible’ to enemies.
- Gets an attack bonus against good characters.

Con's:
- Can't fight a non-human opponent by himself.

- Chaotic evil (Demon children)
Characters that believe in themselves and evil.
Pro's:
- Can steal.
- Can kill anyone.
- Gets an attack bonus against good characters.
- Gets a defence bonus against party members.

Con's:
- Must attack one party member every campaign.
- Can't do good.

Well most of my ideas would be FF7 based for a technofantasy. A technologie filled metropolis where the outside is barren and filled with those resentful of the technologie users. But then again i could probibly twist that into the complete oposite and just claim its original. The world has begun using a new energy source. Everything seems easier and life is made more relaxing to the citizens of this new world. Until an outbreak of mutation is caused. The worlds government has been over thrown and it now lies in terror as these mutated humans exposed to the energy become violent and cannibalistic. A few safe havens void of the energy source exist. These havens house the remnants (I like the word remnants. Blame square..) of the once broken world. These remaining havens have become the only settled places in the world. Until one day the polution of the energy source begin to fill the skies. Once safe havens are now no safer than anywhere else. It is up to those heroic enough to fend off the beasts and abominations of the new world. One group of survivours must come together to clense the land and destroy the main power source.

Through out their journey they will be faced with enemies that have been overcome with a new strain of cancer. One that rather than killing them turns them into sentient beings. Once they have died they become one with thier spirits. Becoming new godly manifestations of what they once were. Although this seems like the great idea of a new utopia once they have begun their tranformation their minds fray and their hunger for energy and human flesh becomes more dominant.

Through out this journey the heroes will be equipped with a combination of classical meele and ranged weapons aswell as a mix of new and technological weapons they find along the way.

Will the world ever see the peace that once filled it? Thats up to you.

I hope someone likes this. I spent a good 10 minutes of my life doing it.

Yup, like it. I usually like the old school dungeons and dragons best though, just orcs and rats instead of mutated orcs and mutated rats. This sounds good though!

Thanks Kroatz. lol!

Some races?:

Techelf. Owning both strong magical powers as well as great technological knowlege the tech elf has great abilities in mechanics and enchantment of gear and weaponry.

Human: Basic race with modern knowlege of technologie. Weapons specialists and tactical combat genious's

Half Transformed: Although they were effected by the disease their minds where not frayed. They have become semi sentient demi gods in their own world.

And finally
Short ones: The short ones are small humanoids with a great sense of adventure. Although their shortness may disadvantage them they make up for it with speed and explosive power. Specialists with explosives.

These short ones seem familiar, have I heard of them before? But they sound cool, I might just choose them as my race! There are lots of small places they can and others can't crawl through. Like tunnel colapsing, enemies closing in, crawl through the crack to the outside whislt your enemies are squishified in the cave-in!

Short ones are actually hobbit like things, half transformed aren't elf like and tech elves are just elves but who have giant mechs and technologically advanced. Was trying to make it D&Dish since you said that's what you liked. Also half transformed are like glowing things who float and zap things. Also this was entirely off the top of my head. The half transformed are the only things that I didn't base on anything else. Ok then. Give me a while and ill have it completely original. Or at least attempt to.

Okay, we definetly need humans though, need a basic middle ground. None of the strenghts or weaknesses, but still possesing some good skills. They may be the all-around character, but certain scenearios will make it so they have to go and find a member of a different species to help them. Like, only a dwarf would know how to open a master crafted dwarven lock. To open a treasure chest or something, or a door.

Let's all think outside the box for a moment. Insread of a D&D kind of thing we could just write an actual story. the first person starts like this for example:
At midnight the man in the black cloak walked into the Inn. Freddie, the innkeeper felt a chill run down his spine as the stranger sat down and said in a raspy voice:
'Beer.'

Then the second person writes another part, that needs to be approved by a GM before being actually included into the story.
Rules could be easily made:
Don't introduce any characters before asking the GM.
Don´t let characters die before asking the GM.
Everybody takes turns, nobody posts twice in a row.

This could work right?

Well, here is my avatar for the game, I think. Well, introduce yourself!

Um…hi. Well, I'm…actually, I don't have a name yet.
Alright, I'll call you…*looks up names online* Ludwig, I think that's a suiting name.
Alright, my name is Ludwig, and I'm a Black Mage. I just got created by my god a few minutes ago, so not much to say. But, he did start me off with learning, vocabulary, and some spells to boot, so I'm thankful for that. At least he didn't create me without any knowledge, then I'd be one of those drooling retards, you know, those stick figures people doodle in school? Unless you focus on them, when they come to life they are retarded. Yep, retards with swords and guns, why do you think teachers don't let kids doodle in the first place?
Alright Ludwig, that's enough on how drawing people work.
Oh, right, sorry. Well, I'm your average Black Mage, but due to just being created, I have no memory. Well, I guess I'll be joining you all on your journey's, so I hope to have some good times, and good loot.
Geez, you just got created a few minutes ago, and you blab like a true magician. I'm so proud of him!

Alright, after some thinking, I think we're going to need to simplify things a tad bit, if we add in too much stuff this game will never take off. We can base it off DND as there is a narrator, but it may be a bit too hectic to create millions of monsters and items. Instead I believe it should be up to the GM's judgement of what drops ect. Making sure that it keeps with how far into the game the players are. Like not dropping the god sword of god slapping.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________The Story_____________________________________
Sitting upon an obsidian rock, a man lazed in the sun, his eyes drifting about his surroundings he seemed otherwise content. His eyes locked on a small figure approaching over the horizon. Puzzled he got to his feet, the sun making him squint his eyes in an attempt to see the figure.
It approached him slowly, a small chill ran down his spine as he finally made out what it was. It was a child, around the age of six, it smiled up at him, but it's smile wasn't normal, the eyes were filled with such murderous intent it felt as if the air around the man was growing thick. He stumbled back, “W-what are you!?” he gasped, before the black tendrils tore from the child's being and into him, piercing the armor like a knife through butter.

Several days past, the body left on the rock to rot, suddenly it began to twitch, the flesh from the body already began to corrode burned away, revealing nothing but a pitch black shadow. The fallen soldier sat up, white circles where it's eyes used to be, the shadowy creature jumped off the rock, grabbing it's sword. Within moments the being took off. Charging in the direction the child had went.

It came across the city the soldier once fought to protect fallen into ruin, the civilians slaughtered, black shadowy figures in their place, blood splattered upon their clothing as they marched onto the next part of the city, snuffing out any survivors they saw. The new arrival felt joy fill it inside, a thrill of the kill running through it's shadowy veins as it walked forward. The chaos it was to sue sitting in it's mouth like the sweet taste of one's favorite treat.

Running down into a sewer, several people found themselves some sort of haven, armed with very little, and with only a few days rations. If they were not to move, they'd surely die of hunger if they were not found first.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________Narration System______________________________

Similar to Mafia, the GM will update the Narrations of what happens at a set time in the day.

The GM will narrate something, and the players can choose to RP what they do within this time of what happens at that point of time. The narrations will then advance the plot later.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________Fighting System_______________________________

Damage dealt to enemies is based on how effective the attack would be on the enemy. Say Player A. Attacks armored tortoise with a bow, it'll probably do jack crap, where as Player B. Attacks armored tortoise with a sledge hammer, it may break the turtle's shell. Send in your attacks to the GM to have them put in the Narration. The attack order will be in the order the PQ's are received so the enemy may be dead before you strike. In the case of multiple enemies, say the enemy's name you wish to attack, and what you are doing to attack it.

Enemy attacks are based by who is closest to it, or who dealt it the most damage.

Example: Player A. Fires a rocket at the enemy, the enemy's attention is now on Player A. Some classes however can pull this attention off a weaker class, such as the Knight's “For Glory” skill, if they choose to use this during a fight, the knight will take damage instead of the weaker class.

________________________________________________________________________________________________Non Combat Game play____________________________

Outside of combat the players can RP, they are expected to remain in character while posting in this topic. Do no go OOC (Out of Character) doing so will be punished. Perhaps by a rather hungry monster taking off your limb.

If the GM says you're a bar, feel free to RP in a bar, get drunk, fall down whatever, just remember to be smart about it. Nobody wants a person to RP an idiot, that does nothing but stupid things. IE killing people with farts.

You can also give items to other players this way. Just makes sure to keep track of your inventory.

______________________________________________________________________________________________Items and Inventory_________________________________

Each player will be given basic starting items, their weapons varying by what class they chose. Three days worth of Rations (Health), their weapon, and some currency.

The Inventory system would look something like this, and can be copy and pasted into your posts to help you keep track of it.

_________________________
_____Zeph's inventory_______

1.Rusted Metal Sword
2. X2 Rations
3. Lizard's claw.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________Looting_____________________________________

When a monster drops an item, you may decide to pass on it. Or the GM will pick a number between 1 and 10 (Or whatever variation they wish) whoever is closest to the number gets the item. (Kind of like the greed system from WoW)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________Classes_____________________________________

Your class will obviously decide what abilities your character has, and what they can wear/wield.

The classes are as follow.

______________________________
___________Soldier_____________

Soldiers are jacks of all trades, they can use both guns and melee weapons, however their ability to use the larger weapons is limited, they are best with guns. Soldiers rely more on speed and tactics to win a fight.

Soldier's Skills-

Eat Lead: The soldier's gun attacks do more damage.

Duel Wield.: Soldiers can wield any combination of blade and gun, be it two swords, two guns, or a gun and a sword.

Long range: Soldiers are less likely to be hit.

________________________________
___________Knight_______________

The cyber armored champion of melee combat, the Knight is terrible with ranged weapons, but great at taking damage, and dealing it with melee weapons.

Knight's skills.

Templar: Knights can take more damage while wielding a shield.

Titan's Might: Knights do more damage while wielding a 2 handed sword.

For Glory: A knight can pull the enemy's attention off one ally to himself

_________________________________
____________Rogue________________

Kings of the streets, the rogue is trained in the art of keeping hidden. Great at deactivating traps, and security devices. Rogues excel in thievery and breaking into places. Some places will require a rogue's fine touch if the party does not wish to alert the media of their presence. Rogues wield knives, often in pairs.

Rogue's Skills.

One with Shadow: The rogue can avoid enemy attacks this turn by hiding in the shadows.

One eye open: Rogues cannot be taken by surprise, allowing them to avoid critical attacks from enemies.

Backstabber: Take the enemy by surprise may cause more damage.

__________________________________
__________Tech Whizz______________

Tech whizzes know their way around devices, those of the unexplained kind, advances in science allow these little buggers to unleash various attacks that normal humans would find impossible, by inserting various programs into their gauntlets, they can cast a variety of “Spells”

Burst of Flame: Launches a blast of flames from the TW's gauntlets at the enemy.

Shock Wave: Unleashes an electrical pulse at the enemy. Sometimes short circuits lesser robotic enemies.

Sub Zero: Attempts to freeze an enemy in a sheet of ice.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________Character Sheet_________________________________

Name:
Age:
Sex:
Height:

Class:

Inventory:

_________________________
______Skills 50 points_______

HP:10+

Strength: 5+

Intellect: 5+

Agility: 5+

Defense: 5+

- The + means you can add points to these skills. Your skills will determine how much damage you do to an enemy as well, along with if you can open locks or break down doors. Choose wisely.

XP: 0/100 (Next Level 2)
-You'll obtain XP from killing enemies, every level adds 100 more needed XP to advance to the next level.

___________________________________
__________Equipment________________(Possibly optional)

Head: (None)
Chest:(None)
Legs:(None)
Weapon: (None)
Shield:(None)
Weapon 2: (None)

_______________________________________________________________________________________________How equipment works______________________________

Equipment will have stats on it.

Ex.

Rusted army dagger.
Attack 6 (Adds to strength)
Cost:13 currency
Description: A rusted army dagger, it looks like it's seen its share of use.

Your equipment will be factored into the battles when damage is being dealt, or taken. Such as if you're wearing.

Broken armor.
Defense Increase 6 (Adds to defense obviously)
Cost: 35 currency.
Description: It's shattered in several places but the straps allows one to sling it over their frame from minor protection.

The broken armor will be factored into how much damage you would take if an enemy were to take a swing at you.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________Equipment upgrade_______________________________

The GM may choose to drop something seemingly useless after an enemy is killed, however keeping these and taking them to a weapon/armor shop can allow you to upgrade your armor. Such as.

Scrap Metal
Sell Price: 13 currency.
Description: It's a broken piece of metal, perhaps a vendor will want it.

When in a city/town, PQ the GM the item you wish to upgrade and the item you wish to add to it.

Ex.

Zeph said. “I would like to use this Scrap Metal, with my Broken Armor, how much for the upgrade?”
-GM responds the price, if Zeph agrees-

Zeph receives reinforced armor.

Reinforced Armor
Defense Increase 8
Cost 40 currency.

Shops provide a variety of services, however they only sell stock items. More advanced equipment has to be obtained on the field, and upgraded at weapon/armor shops. A GM can open up a shop in a city by putting it in their narrative as.

Ex.
Weapon Shop
____________

Services: Can upgrade weapons for a price.

Merchandise:
Rusted Sword 10 currency
Rusted Shield 23 currency
Rusted Knife 8 currency
Rusted Rifle 16 currency.

Your sell price is on your item you pick up, simply PQ the GM the item you wish to sell, and the will respond with the money you receive, remember to edit it out of your inventory, or else you could be penalized.

Do we start with any equipment? Or do we start with some money and it is up to us to outfit ourselfs? I like the secound option so we have more customization. We start out with just enough to get the basic armor and weapon or say someone dosn't get armor infavor of getting a slightly better weapon.

Anyway I like it and can't wait to start. We already had D&D group start up from Drunkduck but it fell through do to lack of activity T.T I was having fun too cause at the time it was my first D&D campaign.

DC Universe: The Night before the Dawn.
You’ve all at some point read, watched or played something to do with the DC universe. Now it’s time for you to immerse and change this universe for your own purpose or liking. Want to replace The Joker and take your own spin on him? Do it. Want to replace Batman and be an alternate version of The Dark Knight? Do it.

I still want original characters as long as they’re applicable to the DC Comics. Those wanting to replace characters already set e.g. Joker, Batman, Superman, Lex etc. Will literally replace them, they will be taken out all together and instead you will fill their void. I just hope you can do them justice.

Story
The story will take place just after the Battle for the Cowl storyline (Batman/Bruce Wayne’s death and who should take over his mantle which was Dick Grayson, Chris Kent took Nightwing and Damian Wayne became Robin) and just before Blackest Night (Which we will go into). The Emotional Spectrum has been set already in motion; Blue, Green, Yellow and Red are known. Though if you wish to be a Violet, Indigo or Orange lantern I’ll allow it, you’ll be in the story much later though but I’ll give you something to do.

The Lanterns are the enforcers of the DC Universe, they keep order and balance in the DC Universe, the Green lanterns are the main/original colour and are the symbol of Willpower, during the progress of the Corps Sinestro (a former member of the green lanterns went rogue and soon became a wielder of a yellow ring of fear, this soon developed into a entire corps based upon fear. This lead to the Sinestro Corps war (a war between Green and Yellow lanterns whose powers clash) and it is revealed that Yellow and Green are not the only lantern colours in the universe.

I know much of the Blackest Night story (which will be a main backbone to the RP as it’s a big current DC storyline), how it will play out and I will be definitely getting the Brightest day stuff and adding it to this if it goes as far as I would like it to. Those playing original characters will have to PM some info to me but I’ll sort that when I get to it. Be wary that your characters may ‘Die’ in this but it may mean you’re not out the game just yet.

To start you will be getting to grips with your characters; I will allow free control of what you do e.g. villains go cause mayhem leading to heroes to stop you. I will then put in motion the Blackest Night stuff, slowly at first and begin to heat it up. If you don’t know the Blackest Night’s story then good, the less you know the more of a surprise it will be.

Lanterns will play a large roll in this RP so I want some corps members, if you know very little about them then research, research, research. That's how I came to love the current crossover storyline happening.
