Thoughts on a DrunkDuck fightsplosion tool? A way to pull it out of the forum format a bit ( Yet still keep a discussion forum available ).

Thoughts on how this would function?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, could you be a bit more specific? Like, are you thinking about making it a site wide annual event or something?

Coudln't it just be a community account that people can sign up for?
The comments would work as the message board does.
Or just keep the forum post and put the comics in a comic account.

I'm thinking more like a system…

For example (and this is 100% hypothetical):

1.) A bunch of people sign up
2.) They are randomly paired
3.) An arena is either agreed upon or randomly chosen
4.) A sequence of turns are taken

Maybe even have some voting system etc…

I wouldn't want the whole thing to become too complex or over regulated… but rather provide an infrastructure to it that would be reusable and fun and not as messy as a million forum posts ;)

I am totally for this idea, and maybe the system could have an auto disqualification system so if the people don't get their comics in on time. Just a suggestion though.
FIGHTSPLOSION 5!!! IT HAS 2 ALIENS, A PIRATE, A HORNY NINJA AND A HOMOCIDAL FIRE PRODUCING PENGUIN! AND A BIRD WOMAN AND A CAT WOMAN!

Also a mute that reminds me of Johnny Bravo and Samuel L Jackson at the same time!

Auto disqualification? I'm not so sure about that, what about the time zones? I mean, the forum doesn't include different time zones. So an Australian could have the advantage over an L.A man.

Or, Radec/AQua_ng could buy a lined note pad, a pen ( funds permitting maybe red, blue and black) and some dice.
We should all pool our money and help fund this new hardware. :P

Anyway, you mean like a Void city esque automated system?

I'm getting images of something alot like the way that the comic pages run, what with a section that places all of the pages in order, and a comments box thing. After the sign up and what-not. Still feel more comfortable with biology somewhere in the system though.

'Void City' or 'Enter Void'

It's a huge sequential image based battle website. I'm not on it (draw five pages in three weeks? In my effin' dreams) but from what I've gathered, people sighn up fighters, then challenge other fighters.
Their whole system's obviously much different from the Fightsplosion turn-based tournament works, but it is pretty automated.

Just seemed like a good example. >.<
