I figured that I might start a thread where we post political cartoons and discuss whenever we agree with those or not…. or even what we think it means.

I'd love it if this was stickied, just so that even those who didn't wish to discuss any of those political cartoons could post the ones they liked for others to discuss.

but of course it all depends on how well-received this is…

and my personal fave ones:

More to come if people's interested in this thread.

Even if you do a political cartoon right, 50% of the readers are going to be pissed at you.

I used to do some for my high school newspaper long ago. However, I never got to publish my best one; the subject of that cartoon committed suicide on the day I was going to submit it. :(

Can't people do that even if it's not stickied?

To stay on topic, all of Bloom County / Outland. Dunno if Opus still has that political slant that Breathed's previous strips did, but it's a good snapshot of what was going on in the 80's / early 90's.

*draws discussion spear and tower shield (fireproof, as always)* If I may discuss the one by Tom Tomorrow (I read into some of his other cartoons), I agree with his viewpoints, but think he's a bit of a belligerent dick in going about it, his cartoons are painfully true, but to make it a “good” political you have to have some humor(or at least mildly humorous irony) injected in there. Agree? Disagree? Discuss, minions!

Americans farmers are callous bastards and like to see dark skinned people starve to death

yep, and feeding america isnt hard enough, we have to feed other countries too. also it's not the farmers who get to choose where the food eventually goes. they take it to the closest silo, and whatever company owns it, pays them. and then sells it out.

feeding america isn't hard , the US has a huge surplus of grain production !! why the hell shouldn't america feed some of the countries that they exploit for cheap resources and labor ???

farmers DO choose what they grow , and many of them switched to growing corn because they Knew it would be used for ethanol and they would get more money for it !!

Great thread! Political cartoons are the only reason I read Newsweek!

It would take a taser to kick start this incredible occasion of complaining about the endless problems of the world today, and I know just the teacher to do it…

Did you know that I actually an (ahem) award-winning political cartoonist? I doubt my stuff would be very well-received here, though.

It does not surprise me that the majority of the posts in this thread are yours.

Nor does it surprise me that half of the stuff from your first link is blatantly anti-semetic.

So I'm anti-semite now?

I'll tell you what an anti-semite is. An anti-semite is someone obsessed with bashing Israel while ignoring the wrongdoings of others. Examples are holocaust deniers because they deny Nazi atrocities, and the Jihadists because they deny the atrocities of Islamic states. Is Israel such a sacred cow that cannot be questioned and criticized?

Let me make it clear that the New World Order is not only about the Jews or one group in particular.

Let me make it clear that I'm not anti-Israel or focused on only one group. I am anti-tyranny and tyranny transcends race, religion, and isnt only confined to one group.

Let me make it clear that yes I agree with you that some of those cartoons are anti-semite. But just because a particular artist has some anti-semite stuff, does it mean you have to ignore the truth he says in other works?

I hope you understand what I'm saying. Thank you.

I actually think that the cartoonist you linked to, along with being an anti-semite and holocaust denier (which is a retarded viewpoint when viewed with any rationality), doesn't do political commentary very well. Basically, he seems to hate everyone and believe all people are evil. Or maybe all politicians.

But he doesn't have the cutting wit that the other cartoons posted here have. His point is always “they're bad. Look, these guys are bad, too” - Also … not funny.

So, as political cartoonists go, I think he sucks. But I'm glad you enjoy his work, as we all have our opinions (and we know what they're like, right? :) )

Now here's a real talent:

Mark Fiore Political Cartoons

Be careful, you may be gone in those archives for a long time.

Fiore is great.

Tom Tomorrow
is good as is Tom the Dancing Bug.

But if you want to see really what this new world order thing is, well, you can get a very complete picture here. Or at least as clear a picture as you need. See, the whole New World Order thing is that its all the same evil.

After we've established that all govenernment (read, “even the people who just want to keep the trains running on time” ) is evil, then we can all give ourselves to the Church. :)

The underlings are NOT evil. Like the police, the soldiers, and the people who keep the trains running on time. They are just like you and me. They are just compartmentalized and brainwashed. They only need what they need to know.

For example, in my office, I'm not told what I dont need to know. I just get whatever information gets leaked and whatever I overhear.

As for the Church? Its the same thing. The low level priests and such are also compartmentalized and they most likely mean well. That is why I shun conventional religion because they are prone to abuse from the top.

Also, I wonder… if you need a middleman to talk to God. Why is that? I thought God loves us? Shouldnt you be praying and talking directly to God?

The evil ones have infiltrated the government and the religious institutions of the world. And have fun in the fact that humanity is trapped in false paradigms. Just to let you know.

Low level? Like level 3 or 4? Of course they don't know everything. They don't have enough hit points to handle the tougher monsters.
