no…it won't.

I have told myself,“ Self, we will no longer see movies directed by Uwe Balls.”

Maybe they've finally chosen a game that's awful enough to be the right match for Uwe Boll. I still won't see it, but it'll be interesting to read the reviews.

If an awful game becomes an okay movie, the irony will crush me.

Well, it definitely looks to be the best Uwe Boll movie thus far, for what that's worth. I guess his “What the Shit does ‘directoring’ mean?” style just works better in a humor format, where if something is painfully stupid it actually adds to the atmosphere. It looks to be going for a Hot Fuzz/Shoot ‘Em Up-esque “Action to the MAXX!”, though leaning more toward the “Scary Movie 6” style of jokes. I don’t expect it to be “good” by any means, but it has a better chance of being “watchable”. And really, it's not like even a shitty, shitty movie is going to harm the “integrity” of something like Postal, so whatever.

This thread would probably make sense if I knew who Uwe Ball is.

Also isn't Postel the game where you kill people then piss on their corpses?
Please, please, you give me too little credit.

It didn't make House of the Dead good.

Yes, thank you, that's exactly what I'm saying. It's bad for movies that are supposed to be serious, but will blend in with stupid comedy more naturally.

How does a game about an unstable guy who has a bad week (and can kill people) turn into a movie about a guy who gets it in his head to save Arizona from terrorists?

Uwe Boll just writes his own stories, and tries to capitalize on the franchise title to sell tickets. His movies wouldn't be so bad if they were original titles, and not “based” on a video game. I fear what he's going to do to Far Cry….

Well, the game's plot did involve the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. It wasn't really the main story (though as far as I'm aware, there isn't one), but it was in the game. I think there was even a level set in the caves of Tora Bora.

Edit: And yeah, Far Cry is in some serious goddamn trouble. It doesn't have the convenience of already being a convoluted, dumb joke.
