Hide and seek with Bill and Ted.

Meet Bill and Ted.

Bill and Ted are friends. Bill is short and stout, and Ted is tall and lean. No matter where Bill is, Bill will always know there will be one place where Ted can be. However, no matter where Ted is, Ted will always know there will be exactly a dozen places where Bill could possibly be.

How can this be possible?

Remove one letter so that only a chair remains:

h

I remove this h, which alone resembles a chair. Is that right?

Regretfully, I am no good with numerical patterns. ^^

There are only twelve hiding spaces, and only one that Bill can fit in.

A few hints for this one:

1) Use process of elimination. Work with one letter at a time and see if you can find a solution from there.

2) Think phonetically. Sound it out.

Billy vs. Tree – The epic struggle of boy versus tree.
Sonic Colores – It looks like it's going to be a good game because I love how the way it makes me grow.

This is a long shot but… 8?
13, 7, 5, 4, ?, 3… 7 = 4 + 3.
So, taking that same pattern,
13, 7, 5, 4, ?, 3… 13 = 5 + 8.
Probably not the right answer, but that was something I noticed.

and with this, I don't know the answer, but the fact that bill is short and stout and that Ted is tall and lean has to be a part of it.
I also noticed “exactly a dozen”. It sounds odd. Why would it not be exactly 12?

Bill and Ted are the hands on a clock.
I guess the names Bill and Ted were chosen to suggest time travel.

Bill and Ted are the hands on a clock.
I guess the names Bill and Ted were chosen to suggest time travel.

Correct!

Here's an explanation:

By looking at the placement of the hour hand (Bill) of a clock, you should know that there can only be one place the minute hand (Ted)can be on the clock (e.g. If the hour hand is directly on the 12, then the minute must also be on the twelve). However, by looking at the placement of the minute hand of a clock, there will be twelve possible places the hour hand could lie (e.g. If the minute hand is on the twelve, then the hour hand could be directly on one of the twelve numbers).
