Ok, being artists, many of us have tattoos. I myself have only two at the time, but plan on getting many others.

So I'll start us off…

Right upper arm (first tat):

upper left back (sorry so blurry):

This tattoo represents two of my close friends that died a few years back.

New tattoo design for left calf:

This will also have a banner below it, saying "R.I.P. LT Mark Daily

As you can see, all my tattoos are of Wolves. Wolves are my ”Spirit Guides" as a member of the Cherokee Wolf Tribe.

So what are your tattoos, and do they have stories behind them?
My avatar is tiny because I'm compensating.

I'll post up mine as soon as I get back from Law and PT tonight. Don't have time to do it right now as I'm about to run out the door.

You can kind of see one of them in my pictures I posted in the “Pose Your Photos Here” thread on page 53 (with 30 posts showing)

This one is part of a larger set that I had to put on hold for right now. It's kind of a take on the whole Excalibur from the Lady in the Lake, but more Japanese.

It'll have a person in a white outfit in the reaching backwards towards the sword while looking sideways. There isn't actually a face on the person, but there's going to be shadowing where there would be features, so everyone sees a different face of the person.

Also, there's going to be sakura blossoms blowing around. On my right bicep

It's kind of hard to see in this image, but it's a Jack of Spades. holding a glowing staff with tattered clothing. All original drawing, so there won't be one like it. Located on my back left shoulder

And sometime in the future, he and I are both getting tattoos of the hybrid Elder Sign.

That's why I haven't gotten one yet. I've designed a few custom tats for some people, including a dragon that wrapped around a woman's breast (had to sit there holding her boob to make sure I got the sizing right, LOL)…but I never got one myself. If I did, I would get a mermaid, because I love the water, I love to swim–and an old lady called me ‘little mermaid’ once while I was swimming in the pool. Heh.

I've done several tattoo designs for friends and acquaintances, but have yet to get any myself. When I do, I plan on souping up an Aubrey Beardsley-esque flower, perhaps similar to the one at the bottom of this picture:

… and getting it on the back of my lower neck, right below where a tee would cut off.

I love the Excalibur deal, Croi. I've a soft spot for things resembling Arthurian lore. : ) Hard to picture with the woman, though. I do like it by itself quite a bit. Will it turn into a sleeve of sorts, or just a bit more complex?

At the nursing home I work at, a lot of the residents have tattoos. You can still tell what they are, but they'er really faded, and some of them, blurred.

Then again, they probably had them for about 4-60 years. @_@

It wouldn't be a woman, just a person with long hair.

It will just be a bit more complex, really. To kind of give reason to the sakura petals falling down, up the right side of my shoulder will be a cherry blossom tree. It won't go down past my arm where it is now, however

I figure I'm going to be old, eating pudding, have bad saggy skin, and no teeth. Who the hell am I going to try and impress? I don't give a crap what they'll look like when I'm old. At the very least I'll have some fun in the nursing home playing “guess what this used to be” with the staff.

I don't have a pic of it, and due to some scarring on my back I won't bother taking one. I just got it for me. It's a mix of a star and cross. It represent the four branches of my family. And that fact that you need faith in each other to hold a family together.

I plan to get one of a pink lotus in honor of a friend who passed. He was very religous, and his favorite color was pink. LOL. I miss him.

After I have a child I plan to get one done of a mother and child I drew.

A dancer to represent my freedom, as a woman and and American citizen, because I feel free when I dance.

A tiger, rat, and a rabbit intertwined in a sort of Celtic knot. It's my and my sibs Chinese zodiacs.

I got this while I was in Osaka in June from Ton at America Mura #1 - Chopstick Tattoo shop. It's the only one I have and I designed it..
I always forget I have it now. And I think I will still love it in 30 years. Especially because it's on my wrist and wrists don't tend to get too much wear and tear. That's the only picture I have though. It was fairly painful, too.

Im a regular blood donor, so getting a tattoo would disqualify me for that, even for a while.
Ive been itching to get one for a long time now though.

thats not really an excuse for not getting ink, I regulary donate blood, but you can only donate every 3 months, and a new tat only disqualifies you for 6, so you only missing out on two donations.
