He forgot to mention the no child left behind act.

It was a new setup that Bush agreed for all schools in America to follow. All schools would focus on improving reading, writing and math. If a school would provide poor grades in these fields during the standardized tests the government would punish them by cutting their grants. If a single child would do poorly during these tests, the school would suffer. I understand of course that the idea is supposed to be a deterrent to make the schools try harder to educate their children but the outcome is basically this: If you have a hard time educating your children we're going to ensure that you're gonna have HARDER time doing it by cutting your money flow. Thus you can't pay for new school books and teachers salaries.

Naturally the results was a nation wide improvement at theses three fields but at the expense of all other fields. History, geography, science, biology. All suffer because schools focus so much more on making sure that every single child will pass the standardized tests. So that no child will be left behind.

I even heard that some schools now have special classes called “How to pass the standardized tests”.
Those were my two cents.

What? I'm not allowed to not like the guy? Healthy criticism is not gonna kill him.

I've never liked his “no child left behind” program. My wife who's American never liked him as well. She hates what he did to the education system. And most teachers don't like it either and want to have it changed.

I remember that Hillary promised to abolish this system, if elected. I wonder if Obama will do it instead.
Those were my two cents.

I don't like Bush and I'm not taking up for him. I just want to note how very biased this report is. Funny people in the “Fox is Stupid” thread were saying that there isn't a liberal biased media that Fox News made that up.

Trust me, the irony of it is not lost with me. I like to think of this guy (the one in the video) as the extremists democrat answer to Fox.

Still, the guy forgot to mention the no child left behind program. What's up with that?

P.S. You should note that both threads were started by subcultured.
