I saw this on another forum, a porn forum geared at males:

guy who has crappy sexual performance
Are you as tired of the commercials making men out to be idiots as I am? The Dominoes pizza commercial where the guy comes out and says to his woman that they have 30 minutes and “you know what that means.” She says yeah, “but what are we going to do for the other 28 minutes.” I wrote Dominoes the following:

“Why must your commercial belittle a man's sexual performance?
I am sick and tired of men being made fun of on tv. Maybe you should imply that the delivery man has a REAL sausage for her when he gets there 28 minutes later because she's really hungry for a full grown sausage and not a cocktail weenie? Hey lady, here's your pizza, and (zip) HERE'S the PEPPERONI. Would it be ok to make fun of a woman for vaginal dryness? How about her period? You, Roomba and Pella windows will never get my business because of how you portray men as idiots and assholes. Grow up.”

I just found this funny, because most commercials feature impossibly beautiful, huge-breasted babes serving their husbands.(beer commercials usually)
Or the tons of commercials geared at women saying being fat, old, or ugly is not acceptable.

What a ‘wanker’ ;)

With these issuse, not matter what gender looks at a commercial, they'll always see their gender being put down. Guys will see that they are portrayed a low libidod, pathetic, lazy, beer drinking tubs of lard.
And then a woman will watch a commercial, and see that women are potrayed as bumbling, eye candy, snotty little spoiled women.

Does this make it right? Nope. Is it going to change? Doubt it. We just got to learn to live with it.

I actually agree whole-heartedly with Crazyninny here (shush, don't tell anyone!). Both genders are portrayed unrealistically in commercials, what do you expect?

But seriously, what did you expect to get at a porn forum aimed at men? ;)

I remember once this ad I once saw for microwaveable noodles. A couple in a studio apartment just finished “doing the birds and the bees”. The guy is all “on the top of the world” and the woman is all like “you were great hon”. Then she stands up and walks across this large room that's divided into a bedroom-living room-kitchen. Inside the kitchen there's this microwave that's counting down 3-2-1-“Ding”. She picks out a noodle cup and looks over to the husband in the bedroom section followed by the text “Generic brand name noodles. Ready in just 30 seconds.”

Now how's that for insulting. ^^

Edit: Is that “PG” enough Oz?

Careful with the sex refs guys, I know it's based on TV ads, but even those have regulations on what time they air. This is an all ages forum.

That's what the NSFW thread in the TD is for ;)

You guys made me laugh.

I remember a commercial for Twix bars where a man was about to munch on the candy bar, but then his wife comes out while wearing these bright, red pants while asking, “How do I look?” <— Or something along those lines.

He stuffed the candy bar in his mouth and acted like he couldn't speak.

She took this as a compliment and left feeling confident out the door.

It was a black couple, as well. So it portrayed the fact that black women have big butts.

If it was the other way around. If women were the ones belittled by tv commercials, would they be accused of having crappy sexual performance?

Stop with the sexism. This is stupid.

And whats even more stupid is the force behind the government that creates such a divide. In the name of ‘equality’. More like separation if you ask me.

Btw, Gloria Steinem is CIA.

Yep, I too have seen this.

Like these idiotic cold and flu commercials that portray the husband/father as helpless, Just whining and acting like he's dying. Gimme a break. I've been able to take care of myself for years. I can even cook and wipe my butt all by myself!

Then there are these commercials (usually alchohol and junkfood commercials) that show how ‘clever’ the guy is by duping his wife/girlfriend so that he can acquire said product (captain Morgan rum, Coors “vent” cans, Twix, etc). That's equally stupid. :P

It's an obvious formula that makes the target product buyer feel superior.

As for the DOminos commercial- Well the guy did change into a silk porno bathrobe in like a half a second. Maybe he does everything fast. :P

xD

Hahaha. I can't exactly agree with the statics because the people I usually see on cellphones and almost getting in a wreck are women. Also, I've watched a girl text and drive at the same time while I was in the car with her. :/ Let's just say I never rode in the car with her again.

I've also seen women driving dangerously slow compared to the speed limit, or drive without their headlights on during a storm or fog.

So… Not that I'm biased about women driving, considering I am one, but I doubt women are any better than men on the road.

I read once that women cause more fender benders because they weren't attentive enough about the surroundings. Men however cause more serious accident's because they take more risks. So you see kids. We are all special, one way or another.

Those were my two cents.

He's not joking, Women get into accidents around 40% less than men do. They also die waaay less in accidents too.

Even more proof is that if you male the insurance agency will charge you usually 20-35% more. No lie, men are more known to be ‘risky’ to them.

Actually, women from age 18 to 25 have higher insurance rates than men.

Well, men do take more risks than women with speed. I ride with a guy who just went on the Dragon (Tennessee) last week and sped up to about 50 or so while going around sharp turns for about an hour (yet he's pretty experienced with cars). Yet, I just can't imagine that women would be any better when I hear stories of five late-teenage girls dying because one female decided to text while driving.

Both genders can be pointed out for stupid things while driving, so I honestly think it doesn't matter.

Now back to hilariously rude commericals.

Years ago, there was this commercial for tea or noodles or something like that. Anyway, this guy makes a cup and his wife comes in, sees the cup and then says ‘You know, I hate it when the lady next door sunbathes topless’. Like a rocket, the guy was out of there and the woman stole his cup of whatever.

Another one, this guy's in a bar and he's remembering the orders for his mates ‘2 beers, two gin and tonics and a scotch’. He repeats it once or twice and then goes up to the counter, looks down and says ‘5 cougars thanks’. The bartender is a busty woman in a tank top with ‘Cougar’ written over the chest.

And last but not least, a couple are having breakfast and this young woman comes in, wearing only her underwear (I'm guessing a room mate or something) Anyway, when she leaves, the woman thinks ‘Nice bra’ while the guy thinks ‘Great tits’.

I know more, but can't think of them at the moment

I don't remember it completely, but there was a commercial where a guy was reading some newspaper when his wife comes in, and asks if her butt looked big.

He reply, “You betcha!”.

And I forgot what happened afterwards. >.>

I think the guy's point is not simply that it belittles men, so much as the double standard that now applies. In terms of sex, in particular, it has become acceptable to make men the subject of jokes which - if the roles were reversed - would raise a storm of protest from outraged feminists everywhere.

Personally I think the sooner everyone rediscovers their sense of humour, the better.

I think the real issue is someone got upset about a commercial.
a comedic commercial.

That commercial and other commercials that may take jabs at men really don't get to me and I would go on to say many other men. Why is that?

The Caucasian Anglo-Saxon male, being the perceived dominant social/ethnic group of the USA, is the “safe” target for stereotyping jokes. That's all it is.
