Starving Artists; the community comic made by artists, for artists, and (supposedly) about artists. The rules are simple, post a dibs here and you get added to the list. When your turn comes up you get three days to post your update (though extensions are easy to get), and afterwards it moves on to the next person on the dibs list. Once you dib, you can't dib again until after you've either posted your update, missed your update, or otherwise been taken off the listing.

This comic is rated PG-13, so try to keep the naughtiness in check. You can do anything you want in your update, but keep in mind that there is some semblance of continuity in the series, and you can't just have anything happen without an excuse (for example, if one character is fighting a giant turtle in one update, he can't be suddenly at home watching Lost as though he'd been there the whole time in the next update). Also, your first update has to introduce a character that represents you (though it can be completely different if you'd like).

Updates can be of any size, and artwork or other aspects can even be done by others. It's entirely possible to have an update drawn by other contributors (which is especially common among those of us who work mostly as writers).

Also, if you don't check DD often, be sure to post an e-mail address I can contact you at to inform you when your update is due.

If your update is going to be called for at an inconvenient time, you can move to any space behind you in the dibs list that you would like (though not forward, obviously). If you would like to move forward, though, all that's needed is for you to trade spaces with someone ahead of you on the list (no cuts). All that's asked is that both parties contact me about the change before I make changes to the dibs list.

You can post as many pages in one update as you'd like, or alternatively you could work together with another artist and have a few pages you drew as part of their update.

Basically, though if you'd like you can start early (in case your update doesn't rely heavily on the main story), and there's no limit on how many pages you can post, though I would recommend against posting as many pages as physically possible just for the sake of doing it.

Hi!

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this but, I was wondering, where I should post if I have an idea for SA that might drastically affect the plot. This is in regards to my potential second update, not the one due for Nov, 30th. I wanted to run the idea past everyone who's writing for SA and see if it's an unpopular idea. If so I'm more then willing to scrap it. I certainly don't want to over step my bounds being I'm a newbie and I have yet to post even a single comic for SA. Since I can't find any other discussion forums on this site for Starving Artists I decided to post here and ask.
