eh.. and my brother got me some weird earphones that I have to actually stuff into my ear… O_O

Those are the best kind, once you get used to the feeling, youll realize they sound even better than the expensive bose headphones.
My avatar is tiny because I'm compensating.

Virtumonde!

Fuck it, delete everything. Literally.

I had that little bastard get into the parent's office computer and the only way I could get rid of it was to completely wipe the whole thing and reload all my stuff. That's the only “cheap” way that I know of since everything else I tried it blocked me from getting at it to the point of blue screening the computer and then refusing to open even windows explorer when I tried to get at it manually.

I forgot my rant. So it obviously wasn't all that important.

You can always add more to it after you upload it(upload it again, etc), that's what i do. No one notices the changes or anything tho lol. ——–
DONE!

My headphones are a pair of old Pioneer ones my day got in the 70's. They're big, made off a lot of padded leather and chrome plated steel. Not much plastic on them. with a nice curly cord. Still fantastic sound.

But after a while your head feels like it's in a vice.

Vundo… sounds nasty.
If you have Mcfee, they suggest this.

If you have Norton, this.

And this if you have none of them.

Or lba's nuclear option :(

Sigh. I now remember why I don't wear jewelry. I got a lovely necklace for Christmas, but, as all other necklaces before it, it doesn't fit my gargantuan neck. :-/ I have over a dozen lovely necklaces from Christmases past all with the same problem. Is my anatomy really so bizarre that 100% of all necklaces don't fit me?

Most store-bought jewelry comes with the shortest chain possible, because that's cheaper.

If they're pendants, you can just get a longer chain and swap the pendants out. If not, there may be a way you can tastefully extend them. You might check a crafts shop for jewelry making supplies, some of them will sell more generic chains or metallic wire-thread which can be attached with little trouble. All the better if you have longer hair, most people won't notice you've had to extend them.

allright! so now that i've completely wiped my system clean, i have to upload my scanner again or whatever. it's not taking. i need a driver or some bullshit i didnt need before and i have comic pages to upload…i found one site that MIGHT have something and you have to do this free registry, and it's asking me these bullshit questions like what kind of work i do and how many people i work with . shit that's irrelivant. so, i decided i dont trust it and am not gonna fuck with that site! this just sucks….i tried using my driver detector, you know that thing that automatically hooks up stuff like scanners and cams and stuff like that and it gave me the blue screen twice.

on a completely unrelated note, i had a hair stuck in my throat for about 3 days.

I poke you, you tell me to stop, then I hit you over the head with a sledgehammer and put you in the hospital. You call the cops and our lawyers haggle in court. A bunch of guys with rockets in the back yard of a mosque versus modern artillery and fighter-bombers unloading ordnance?

The media has played favorites in the Arab-israeli thing since the Israelis proved time and again that the Arabs are a bunch of incompetent twits. Then they decided to secure their borders because they were sick and tired of getting beaten up. The press these days likes the underdog. It's like the WWII “what-if” CNN was on the spot. Allies invade Europe, 40,000 plus casulties in Omaha beach debacle, Thousands of French civilians killed, injured and rendered homeless by indiscriminate Allied bombardments. Germans condemn surprise attack. Hitler swears his fighters will bring the battle to the enemy homeland.

So I looked at my comic and realized that I have nothing to update with Thursday. I have the time, will I use it or watch it vanish because the wife is home on vacation?

The reality is that the “fave” is the Israeli side. That's not bias, that's the reality. It's just funny that when people talk about civilian deaths on the “other” side that people say the press is being biased.

The actual facts are that there aren't two countries at war: there's one country, and that country contains within it a vast, contained population of people they don't want, fenced in with their water, food, electricity, fuel, money and all other supplies controlled very tightly. Sort of like a big prison camp.

That facts are that Israeli casualties are extremely low. Palestinian causalities are massive. it's something like 5 to 1. And quite a lot of those are civilians. But people probably don't realise that. They also probably don't realise that those “deadly rockets” almost never injure or kill anyone. Palestinian civilians of all ages are routinely humiliated at checkpoints every day, people have their houses forcibly searched and ransacked without warning, they can even be bulldozed for no reason (just to widen the road for tanks), houses can be forcibly occupied and the families thrown into the street if soldiers want to use it, they they ransack and loot it. Israeli tanks usually treat Palestinian cars and houses like speedbumps…

——————————-

But people probably don't realise that.

I hate it when Palestinians attack Israeli's with rockets too you know, but their's a hell of a lot of background behind that, and that is kept from your delicate, naive, shell-like ears by your “biased” press who people think don't like Israel so much… You have to get THAT info from the Red Cross and U.N. staff.
——————————-

Not to bash anyone over the head with it. It's just that these things aren't simple. They never are. And people lose sight of the fact that there's real people suffering just because they want to think about aesthetic rights and wrongs and juvenile black and white moralising based on almost no knowledge of what really goes on.

Ozone you're on target. My simile actually disproved my point about the fave thing.

But having had the opportunity to read the press coverage going back to 1967 (my mother kept the Time and Life magazines) the focus of the coverage has shifted toward the Palestinians. I've also viewed the Newsreel and TV coverage of 1947 and 1956 versus 1973 and the 1980s in Lebanon. Lebanon marks the shift in coverage.

Thanks for providing me another excuse not to work on my comic. ;)

you know what else i hate? conspiracy theorists…granted…1/4 of their facts are right, doesnt mean all of them are. but i can see where they come from…

if point a is true, and was lied about, why cant b, c, and d be true? in the words of luke skywalker. “no that cant be true, that's impossible.” wait, on second thought that was a bad quote. because it was true, and obviously not impossible.

but points b, c, and d are all non facts. i'm sticking by that. i'll just be crushed if they aren't.

Lebanon marks the shift in coverage.
It marked a slight equalisation but even that wasn't much considering the civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. And then it went back to the old mode:

"Palestinian Militants killed, Palestinian sources CLAIM there were two women and 3 children also killed. Meanwhile Palestinian terrorists continue to fire rockets at settlements. An IDF corporal was badly wounded, and now we'll interview some scared Israeli civilians about the rockets and how they live in constant fear."

Even the mention of claimed Palestinian killed civilians is seen as biased, meanwhile it doesn't matter that they also live inconstant fear, but also poverty, not able to get proper medical care and they have 500% more chance of being hurt or killed…

lol!

Truthfully, in all the Western press, elements of domestic Israeli news are probably most critical of what the country does. Especially regarding the most recent unsuccessful Lebanon invasion.

———-
But I'm not beating you over the head, it's a general rant. I'm embarrassed about it really. And I don't want to sound as if I support Palestinian aggression… I abhor it.

I've come to the conclusion that there must be something in the air in Iowa. I came here 2 weeks ago a fairly happy, energetic, creative feeling person and now I find that everything around me seems much more depressing and I'm getting lazy and complacent about making things. I think this entire state just affects people in some weird way, because even the people at the supermarket, restaraunts, etc. seem unhappy and irritable with their surroundings. People who were born and raised out of state seem even more affected than those who are native too. I don't think it's just because it's winter either. There's a distinct pattern of behavior and general tone to the area that's incredibly singular to the area.

I'm thinking I'm going to do some research into what about this area of Iowa is causing such a weird effect on the population, as soon as I have a good long stretch of time to hypothesize and develop a few experiments.

Palestine n' Israel, best friends forever!

I try not to get too hung up on world politics, but I'm pretty anti-Israel. I don't support aggression or war, but Israel is a huge bully that gets away with most things for pretty crummy reasons. I feel like the formation of the country was unjust to begin with and that Israel doesn't deal fairly with its neighbors. They're aggressively populating land that isn't theirs so they can claim it (among all the other things ozone said), and when other countries get tired of them and don't want to sign any more peace treaties they react all out of proportion and then play the victim card. I don't think they're worse than other countries in that region (I don't think there's a such thing as a country that plays fair), but I don't think they're much better either.

Today at the store I found a shower wash that is my two favorite smells, vanilla and cocoa! I was so excited I bought 4 of them, because they are named ‘winter’ and that made me think they wouldn't be around long. When I was smelling one about half an hour ago I got some on my nose and so I am still smelling vanilla cocoa. :kitty:

Why are people getting rid of their Christmas holiday avatars? Being baptised Russian Orthadox our Christmas is January 6 which is also Twelfth Night and the offical US “Take Down your $%&#ing lights day.”

So Christmas isn't over yet. I won't let it.

So I'm working New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. I have the studio all set up, the figures mounted on their horses and all ready to go… and I'm not in any mood to take any pictures. Ugh.

Yippee! Instead I have to sell more stuff on ebay. :)

my brother has finally gone off the deep end…i was hoping he'd make it to army basic, to get some manners beat into him….

on another note, tonight was the first night i took losses at the casino in a week. dropped from 500 to 440. (started with 60 last week) the dude sitting the end of the black jack table was an idiot and cost us a bunch of money. he doubled down on a 12, against a dealers 4. he yelled at me for hitting on a 12 when dealer was showing a face card. i mean, i dont think this guy knew how to play.

also, everyone wants to start drinking at midnight, but i've already been up for 22 hours. (midnight is in 2 hours here) but i wouldnt mind tagging along tomorrow night…
