Yeah, I really need to learn some recipes for better people. Maybe something italian. =D

But seriously, does anyone know any good herbal recipes for BLARGHing? I'm getting tired of Pepto Bismol.

Ginger usually helps with most stomach problems. Candied ginger is usually good enough and it doesn't taste foul. Other than that, some lemon balm tea which you can make by putting lemon balm leaves in hot water.

You know what I hate? no online shops carrying decent boots in size 14. or any actual shops carrying ANYTHING in size 14. I can never find any decent shoes to wear! it's driving me fucking nuts that not a single online shop cares to cater for people with big feet, it's like it just stops at size 12. This is what makes me seethe.

I know a guy with the same problem: he gets all his footwear at a specialist shop in London - quality stuff and I think they only cater for giants.

Yet another reason to stop being a deprived Northerner and get yer arse dahn sarf!

well my univeristy applications may keep me up north, put me in the midlands or waaaay down south. in the south, people will berate me for having a brutish accent, but at least I will be warm and have comfortable giant shoes.

Ha, I have the opposite problem. I have to buy children's shoes. That makes it pretty hard when I'm looking for something that's not pink and sparkly or spiderman, like when I wanted special badminton shoes.

I have to do a final project for digital multimedia and I really didn't feel like doing all the work in photoshop with my horrible mouse in class(the tracking is way off and I don't have the privileges to fix it) so I worked all weekend making images for my project…which I was unable to access today because my school blocked hotmail. Even though they're too f*ing stupid to get the school email working.

What's wrong with Spiderman shoes!?!?! (looks at shoes)

Haha. I'm only kidding.

So. The first semester of this year, I had intro to web publishing. I had signed up with my counselor to get a drawing class for the second half of the year, but apparently they can't do that because it's a full year class. And it's a good thing that I did sign up with my counselor, because they put me in TWO performing arts classes (Basically, drama class). So she took the one off, and had me choose between weights, shakespeare, and advanced web publishing. It was a close tie between Weights and Advanced Web Publishing. Buuuut, I knew that I couldn't really use weights later in life, and I already work out at home. So I chose Advanced Web Publishing.

So hopefully, I'll be awesome with HTML and stuff! :D

Not a single flake of snow the entire time I've been in Iowa visiting the family and then on the day I'm supposed to head back to Milwaukee for classes there's a blizzard across the entire northern Midwest and it's supposed to continue until something like late Wednesday. I'm already missing the first day of all my classes from it. Too bad there's not like a magical state-killing sword or something to make Iowa back off and stop trying to capture my soul forever. Even if that makes me sound like some pirate-wannabe nutter.

A solemn and grave warning to ye might be availed to visit the state o' Iowa: Once she's got ye within ‘er borders she’ll be loath to let ye go again. >_-

What do you mean it's ‘okay’? It's a work of cinematic genius. GENIUS, I TELL YOU.

It's usually grumbly grumpy males that like it. That and fight cub. It's like their permission to be gay for Brad Pit or something.

Gilliam's made much better films than 12 monkeys.

Actually for me it's more of an excuse to be gay for Gilliam. Although I guess I don't really need an excuse.

Yeah, Gilliam's pretty hot stuff.

Ah-well, Lefarce deleted his post. Too “seventy2” for him I suppose.

Man, I'm a little bored… too much time at home during my holidays. I need to go out and BUY something! Or something…
The books I ordered from the U.K. arrived yesterday and today. Both by David Garnet. One is the sequel to the excellent Bikini Planet and one is the book that came before. Too bad I'm in the middle of reading a really silly scifi thriller by Ian Watson.

Whoo got me site to work! :) Thanks for the support Ozone ^^

Been spiffing up the layout for the past two days, mainly trying to learn xhtml or whatever, I'm surprised how sleek it turned out. I've still got a ton of things to do before it's ‘homey’ enough to post. Also fixing up my old pages, note to past self; human heads are not that big. Also noses don't look like that. Also hands are not claws…
Oh well that's back when i was spending like only an hour per page.

I wish i could use dreamweaver with comicpress though, I went to that class and now i don't even use it -_-

I'm staying home today…my dad believes in mental health days, so he'll call me in if I don't feel like going. Though obviously if I was skipping all the time he wouldn't. So that's nice, but I forgot to turn off my alarm so it woke me up at seven and I haven't been able to go back to sleep. I don't think my dad knows that I can only miss one more digital class before I have to have an “attendance contract.” even though I have 97% in that class. What a stupid system.

I never understood that. When I was a student it'd be a pain because you'd know everything you needed and then you needed the TIME to get the work done (at uni). Going to class just wasted valuable time.

Then when I taught it was the same thing! I had to keep a track of student attendance… And even though plenty of students knew exactly what they were doing and would pass easily, they were still going to take a hit on their marks because of poor attendance.
…so I cheated for those ones. :)

Their marks didn't reflect on me as their teacher in any way, if they'd have gotten low marks it wouldn't have mattered to my position, but I didn't want them to get a low mark when they were actually doing the work and I knew they HAD learned what I was there to teach.

Teaching systems should rely more on teacher judgement than that of some overworked administrative person with no idea about any of the particular subjects they're making general rules for.

Agreed. The wife and I routinely cheated the system for the benefit of our students. Sometimes we got burned as a result because sometimes we misjudged the real nature of the student. Just because you are sticking your neck out for a student doesn't mean that he or she won't do you dirty in return. Human nature is human nature. But the majority DO respond well to kindness and respect and those are the ones that you look forward to teaching.

We came to the conclusion that most education administrators consider it their primary job to screw over students and teachers if at all possible. I think they give one another rewards for doing that.

Ah-Haaaaa~

I've finally figured out how to word it. I am having possibly the worst month ever, and it's getting gradually worse. It started with the awesome news that my place of work might get sold, or at the very least my GM will quit. If he leaves the next manager might go through and lay people off. This means I lose my dental benifits. My teeth have, for whatever reason, stopped mineralizing properly, meaning they need to have the weakened areas drilled. Past that, I need to have my wisdom teeth removed. No one in our area is covered for that kind of surgery, so out of pocket I'll probably have to pay 1600. On top of THAT, after having one of my teeth drilled so far, I found out both the first and second dentists I spoke to are actually not covered and I now owe them money.

To make things even more exciting, I keep just barely missing each chance I've had to go out and socialize. So after about six months of no friends, even walking around town gives me this cabin fever kind of feeling. And now I think the stress form all this worrying has begun to make my stomach issues pop back up.

To cap it all off I fucked things up with a friend, a really good friend. And now with all this shit, and my brain feeling like a gigantic rock, I'm probably coming off like a lunatic in trying to reconsile things. Calming down would solve everything, but I feel like I'm on speed. I'm both upset with myself over it, yet at the same time I'm upset with them for a variety of other reasons. It's this wonderful paradox thats keeping me up at night, coupled with the anxious feeling I'm getting of just having these damn teeth ripped from my skull.

Stomach pain, jaw pain, self medication, and one fractured friendship later… my head is pounding. It's this great situation where I know what I want and what I need to do, I'm just in no mood to express it in any way that could be considered right, or non-crazy.

on a lighter note~

RE: teaching and attendance:

Last time I taught, I had a strict policy that my students could only miss three days, excused or not. After that, their grade would drop a letter with each additional absence.

It wasn't that I had no sympathy for them, really. And I had to give one kid I really liked a “failing grade” (at the uni I taught at, if you were an art major, you needed a C or above to “pass” an art class. Weird.) But I figure the more they learn discipline and responsibility and commitment to what they're doing early on, the more likely they are to have good work habits, and maybe be one of the 10% of BFA grads actually doing art five years later. Yes, I'm one of those irritating teachers that thinks I'm doing you a favor by giving you a hard time. Hate me.

the movie was only okay, one of the many it all happened because of him, and nothing changes, but you dont find out till the end there are so many of those. maybe it was an original, but who cares.

i took my wife out to the cliff i jumped off earlier this trip, and she was asking where to jump from and such, next thing i know she's running and just jumps. no warning, nothing. and then, i felt like a little pussy since my wife just did it. so i had to go. granted i had a camera, keys, money, and a shirt. i jumped.

the swim in was horrible. i'm burnt…

See this is partly why I dont have a wife, nor will. If she just jumped into the water I wouldnt feel like a pussy, or have any guilt. I'd chuckle and call her a dumbass under my breath and just leave.

Seriously fuck that, if it's one thing I hate it's freezing cold water.

If my sister can't find a home for her cat before she leaves Japan, she'll have to ship it here. And the cat has herpes and a few other health troubles that could pass to our cats here. :-/ So now we all have a dilemma of what to do with this cat. And my sister has nearly given up finding it a home because she doesn't know many people there and doesn't want to leave it in a pound.

Dad's now talking about putting the cat in the room in the garage with my pet rats, but I don't want to traumatize my rats. They get sick when they're stressed, and it's a very stressful cat (semi-feral, crazy thing my sister found in an alley).

It really sux driving awhile ago. The highway was packed with snow then at the same time, it just so happened that all the bigass tractor trailers were around my little car.

I was driving in an unfamiliar road, with poor visibility and slippery roads, and with those big trucks blocking my vision of the highway exit signs.

:(

I loooove life. Even with the horrible economy, I'm finding paradise in all of this.

I just recently got back into working out, and I found I'm stronger than I was before (even though I didn't lift for a good 3 weeks). I have tons of random girls that want me. I raised my grade in English from a C- to a B. Annnd I found an incredibly huge want to draw. Although I refuse to ink my comic anymore without brush pen. Because I'm sick of microns. I hate them. I truely do. Their only purpose for me anymore is detailing.

But as for the drawing thing, I think it has something to do with listening to a lot of pros advice on “Drawing what your most comfortable with”. I found I love pencilling using a mech. pencil, so I switched back to that, after using some 3H Berol pencil for a while. And I suddenly found drawing more fun. Imagine that.

May I ask how old you are?

Because I get paid 12.65 an hour and even I'm tight on cash. It seems that the economy is somewhat related here since you brought it up, and I want to know how well youre doing money-wise.

Also, can you loan me a few bucks, 'chasen?
