Well I went to see the Ant Bully. I don't mind CG kids movies. Alot of them are pretty cute and funny.

One of the ants was talking and I was like

“wait…is that Bruce Campbell”

I found out later it was and that is cool.

Good movie though. Check it out

looks crap.
Of course you will. All intelligent beings dream. Nobody knows why.

Also, tell random people they are awsome! it helps!

Well to be fair, it IS for kids.

It looks cute enough, reminds me a lot of ‘ants’ as far as the ant design goes, only minus Woody Allen.

Most CG movies are balls crap, like nut crust. Almost all of them are really, really sappy. I mean their just so cookie cutter bad. Most of pixar's stuff's the decent ones and even then, I didn't care for it. This generations bunch of cartoons depends soley on whose voiceing a character, not on that character. Like the Incredibles movie. If not for Samual L Jackson as ice man, I never would've laughed at it. Ever since about 94ish, cartoon feature films have just completely gone downhill. Disney made sequals to Cinderella. Cinderella. It doesn't get more one dimensional with no more story then that, yet somehow they found a way to make more story. I won't even attempt to watch that if it was being clockwork oranged into my face. I would find a way to tune it out.

At this point in time, I am completely sick to death of CGI films aimed at kids. All of them have sucked since Toy Story. It's about shiney things with HUGE eyes with pop culture humor and Chris Rock as a zebra.

Plus, plot seems to take a back seat to just about everything else. Even what freaking name they can get to a voice seems to be more important than making a good story for the film.

I'll pass on all CG films until something doesn't suck so hard core.

Anyone have news on any new 2D hand draw films? I'd mich rather spend my 9 dollars on that.

Not unless you want to see Disney's “Brother Bear 2”

And I understand completely what you mean about CGI movies directed towards kids.

I'd loved to see an american made CGI or even 2D movie aimed for a slightly older audience. Something sci-fi or fantasy… Something with space ships or dragons… that would be awesome.

Was this supposed to be a sequal to that crappy Antz movie from a few years ago that Woody Allen was in?

people are saying that monster house movie is pretty good…I'd probably watch that over another bugslife/antz movie if I really really wanted to pay $10 to watch a relatively short kiddy film

I liked the original Antz a lot. It really was different from your average CG movie. The main character was a depressed pessamist and he fundimentally changed society.

This move looks bad. Those little short clips they show on cartton network are painful to watch.

Well it's got that generic little(doesn't matter what species) has some kind of problem and through some ‘amazing’ adventure learns/gains something he didn't have before making him a better person. Usually something trivial like Friendship, family, how to believe in yourself and other cheesy stuff like that. you could watch all the disney movies made between the 60's to 90's and learn all the little kids moral lessons you'll probably ever need.

Ant Bully might be a decent CGI movie, but the trailer does nothing to convince me of it. There are few things more trite than a cheap Schwarzenegger impression.

But the critics seem to be okay on the movie. I'm not sure I'd be. I'm fairly critical on CGI movies after being spoiled by Pixar for so long.

I'd loved to see an american made CGI or even 2D movie aimed for a slightly older audience. Something sci-fi or fantasy… Something with space ships or dragons… that would be awesome.

I'm okay with kid-centered movies as long as the creators take the extra care to make it something that even a grown-up can enjoy. To me, The Incredibles was something both kids and adults could enjoy, and that may be one of the reasons it's my favorite movie.

agreed. there's nothing worse than companies who only cares to market movies directed at kids without thinking of the parents and other adults who have to go along with the kids and stuff.
it's touture on the parents and adults who has to sit though an very kiddish, fluffy movie WITHOUT falling asleep.
all for the sake of a young related son/girl/cousin/nephew.
I'm on hitatus while I redo one of my webcomics. Be sure to check it out when I'n done! :)

Hey, hey, hey… I think some of you seriously missed what was clearly the big issue here; two words. Bruce. Campbell. 'Nuff said.
