It's most likely our problem and not yours. This does seem to resolve itself eventually each time though, it's just a matter of waiting ages with the knowledge (and the hope), that it will eventually change for good to the one that you want. :(

For some reason, whenever I click the ‘send’ button, the page reloads, but the thumbnail doesn't appear. Same problem as Sea_Cow had (up at the second post on the first page) It looks like this problem was fixed a few months ago, but it's not working for me. Anyone know why?

You should have seen how long it took my edited comic page to go to the right one!

Just checking now… Oh JEBUS!!!! It's going to the old image again! CRAP!

Look guys, I don't know what to tell you. This problem just keep coming back… I'm going to try and get Volte6 to fix it. Terribly sorry for the bother, but I suffer just as much as you from it if that's any consolation. :(

mm, you guys think you have it bad? I have an even more fun twist to add to this little game… When I go to the page to change my comic thumbnail (our artist just finished our real cover page), I see:

New Thumbnail:

Notice a problem there? There's no place to actually choose a new thumbnail… I put the title page as the first page, is there any way to simply refresh the “make comic thumbnail from first page” function to create a new thumbnail with the title page that way? I'm afraid I know VERY little about computers and coding and all that fun stuff, I'm simply part of Crossover High's writing group and our official DD update manager/PR rep/whatever… Any help or suggestions here would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Try using a different browser and see what button options come up on that page. Firefox is a good one, Opera is good but has trouble with us sometimes, SeaMonkey is my fave (modern theme), Camino is for macs only I think, Safari has had issues with us in the past, IE7 is usually ok.

I've also run into problems with the title image, thumbnail image, and avatar. For some reason I'm still getting old title images we've tried to upload instead of the new ones. Anyone know when the problem might be fixed? >.<

I've been trying to put a new thumbnail up for my comic… It's a JPEG and all, but hitting the “send” button isn't uploading it.

Try looking for a file called “thumb.jpg” (or .gif ir .png or whatever it is) in your files section. Delete it, make a new one 80 pix wide and 100 pix high, give it the same name and upload it to the files section there.

Maybe that might work?

Yeah, I tried and it still won't work.

I basically have the same problem as everyone else: I have an old thumb, I click browse, get another image, click send, but nothing happens. And if something does happen, it is after the 100th time I repeat myself. Same with my avatar. I'm really sorry for jumping on the frustration bus with you all and I know that you guys are trying to fix it but it frustrates the heck outa me!

It's a problem…
After you've uploaded that new thumb in the files section, can you click on the name in there? If so, which image is it, the old or the new?

If it's the new one, that'd indicate things ARE changing… Just that the DD server that displays things as “published” thumbnails, avatars, comic pages etc, is not updating them from where you uploaded them, or is doing it but really slowly…

Sounds like a programming issue to me, especially the way it reverts. It's as if it goes to older backups all the time or something.

It's mostly just a matter of waiting. A little while back I tried to change my comic's thumbnail and it just stayed. Then like a week or two later, it suddenly changed to the one I uploaded. I have no idea what happened, but it seems that if you're patient, it will eventually change. So to anyone with this problem, my advice to you is to just wait. Not much else you can do, though :)

Yes, it's definitely reverting… constantly… for no reason. I updated my thumbnail and title image a while ago, and they were working for a while, and now suddenly they've reverted to the older files again. Seems like some sort of cache thing..?

yeah…same here…*droops head down*

Hey, I finally got the hang of posting in forums (yay)! But my thumbnail still frustrates me (boo)! T_T

I guess if the thumbnail is on file somewhere, we just have to wait until it changes to the one that we want…I guess…?

Having the same problem with trying to update a new comic icon / thumbnail (whatever you'd like to call it). I'm using the latest version of Firefox on a PC and it won't change the image.

Seems this is an issue that's been going on for some time…?

Is there anyone who actually has a solution to this problem? I have tried to change my title image for 2 weeks now and I cant find any place on this forum that has a solution (and I know people have been having the same problem). Is there anyone who knows how to make it update.

(my problem is not that I cant click the button, my problem is that it always switches back to my old title image, even when I have deleted it from my files)

Not to sound rude by I am desperate here.

That's my problem exactly - I already deleted the old files I don't want, but it keeps showing up. I uploaded a new title image, but it alternates with the old, deleted one - sometimes the new one shows and sometimes the old one.

This isn't that huge of a problem for me personally, just a little nuisance. I'm sure it'll get fixed in time…um, I hope..Oh, well.

So my comic thumbnail seems to work for a few days at a time and then I get the “no thumbnail” image. When I try to re send the image (which is 80 by 100 pixels) it simply doesnt show up. Actually I think it showed up once but then only a day later it was gone again. Sounds like others are having similar problems… just thought I would share mine.
