I was about to post that Chaser's War on Everything ‘response’ to this, but I see you've already done it… I LOVE that.

The third one's my favorite.

“God has brought us together!”

That must've made 'em mad.

The cop in the second last movie hasn't got much trouble with the “god hates fags sign”, but he doesn't like the “Your paster is a whore” one or the flag being help upside down…

So there's going to be double standing when approaching these dudes. The conservative people will hate them for the aniti-America stance but like them for the anti-gay stance. If only they didn't “hate” America they could probably be accepted into the mainstream. How scary.

Yeah, they seem quite smart for religious extremists.

I love how they're too extreme even for those FOX idiots, and that fool Hanity fellow spews all that hypocritical stuff about not liking wantonly hurtful insensitive wackos on his network… I seem to remember Billo O'Riley and that Coulter woman behaving exactly the same way as those Westbro people when they interview anti war people who've had relatives killed over in Iraq or on 9/11.

I don't know Sub…
They are of course saying crazy, horrible, evil stuff, but the only reason anyone cares about them is because of the stuff they say about the dead troops and how “god hates America”. Without that they'd be left to do their thing, like all those other religious nuts. I'd say they're actually pretty brave in a way.

Meanwhile all the other “fag haters” and worse can go on with impunity as long as they support the troops eh? That's the hidden thorn. It's interesting.

Down with the Westbro people, but down with all the rest of nasty antigay people too. ;)

Ah, the world is full of idiots. I just hope these people don't get MORE popluar because of their exposure.
I feel bad for the sherrif. He was in a really bad position. But he was foolish to show his hand and let them know what HE thought of them.

Oz is right, though. These people would have no recognition at all if they were just another “anti-gay” group, because that is more or less accepted in the U.S. (unfortunately), just like KKK rallys.

I DO think the bikers with the flags is an awesome idea, though. Even though I may protest the war, I wouldn't want a grieving family to have to see the anti-America people.

Unfortunately you have to take the good with the bad in a free society. It's free speech for all or free speech for none. Suposedly, that's what we're fighting for. Not oil.

Yeah, I have doubts about the religious convictions of the membership. Every member is connected to the family through blood or marriage, and most of them are raised to be lawyers.

I hear old Phelps makes his money by goading the grieving relatives at funerals they picket into hitting one of them, and then the bastards sue, or they sue cities for “hindering their efforts to picket”.

The Patriot Guard Riders are good people, though. <3

I am well versed in the tactics of these people, especially Mr. Phelps. One of the more ‘charming’ things about living in my part of the world, is that the man lives less than an hour away. I've seen his protests, I've seen his followers, and they are without a doubt some of the most terrifying people I've ever seen. They're militant, single minded, and do without question. The worst part is seeing their children holding the signs, because you know that that young innocent is going to grow up to be just as filled with hate as them.

Ive attended counter-protests, tried to fight back against that man, but, he knows the exact letter of the law, and he follows it perfectly. Until someone seriously messes up, the man is untouchable.

(from the wiki article on these guys)

“Two days after the September 11th attacks, a lone 19-year old named Jared stood on the street corner facing the church holding up a cardboard sign that said ”Not today Fred.“ In two days, about 90 people joined him, waving American flags and anti-hate signs.”

Oh man, that made me tear up. If there's ANY good that can come of these people, it's that pretty much EVERYONE else is gonna find common ground in disagreeing with them.

they showed up at a military funeral I was at. The Patriot Guard then showed up and drowned them out.
But that didn't stop the dead soldiers family from charging the WBC people. I really wish I would have had a rifle at that moment. I don't care if i'm bad as them because I want them dead. I think all soldiers, saliors, and marines all want to get their hands on them.

Maybe we can get them to god faster.

I agree with Ozone on this one. These guys are the worst of the worst, but the only thing that makes them not tolerated by the majority of coservatives is their anti-American stance. Heck, they'd be welcome on Fox News with open arms if they at least supported the troops.

And Ann Coulter did do this exact same thing, because she's anti gay and has said things about 9/11 Widows enjoying their husband's deaths. However apparently she's “Pro-America” so she's okay with the conservatives.

I don't know what to think, I really don't, mostly because I'm fairly intolerance myself, but towards bastards like that.

I don't agree with picketing soldiers funerals, even though I am very anti war, those people laid down their lives for what they believed in, but so are the protesters, yes, the protesters are hurting people, but the soldiers actually killed people, it's very hard to know where to stand, at least it is if you try to work out who is right.

I support the soldiers, I'm not American, and I hate war, but I still think dying for what you believe in is a very noble thing to do. Stupid yes, but noble.

That lady in the first clip scared me though, the way she was staring straight ahead with that blank look, almost like she'd been hypnotised or brainwashed. . .
Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.

Ah, but those people weren't protesting the war in any way. Their objective is to shock, create a scene and get publicity for their anti-gay message. They don't care about the pain, suffering and hurt they inflict on the families and comrades in arms of the dead soldiers as long as they make a scene.

“get out of the US if it's DOOMED”
“maybe you're GAY”

or more hippi-ish
“we still love you”
“you may have turn your back on God, but we won't turn our back on you”
“butt secks, try it, maybe you'll like it”

The bitch (can't use lady here) in the first video made me want to slap her so It's probably very unhealthy for me to see the rest.
Atom Apple, I like the way you think, and if you can organize that, I'm all in.
I think it's sickening that these people can twist the words of god into that monstrosity…god loves everyone, right? uncondionally? ‘least that’s the god I worship.
And Phantom, if it helps any I have not met a single person that who can stand them.
