What do you remember cartoons on tv saying?
What about newspaper cartoons?

Whenever Sarge swears at Beetle Baily it's in forms of pictures of bombs, skulls, knives and other things.
For F-U, A bomb with an F on it would be a comical alternative for those of us who know better. I remember a VG cats comic where a giant “F” is exploding everything around it. You got what it meant and it was way funnier than her actually saying ‘FUUUUUUUUUUUCK"

BUT it also depends on the tone of your comic. Is it silly comic style or is there a story? Picture swears won’t always work for a story comic.
Fuck you and shit and other such words make it more PG/Web Teen than Everyone. Actually I would rate a Fuck You as a Teen/Mature comic.

BTW, Bugger = to fuck/sodomize more or less.
(and I'm not British HA! I did spend the summer there though and i am laughing at YOU wet sods. I have sunshine. :P :P :P)
