Oh, erm, that would be me!

Hello, hello, I'm Sarahtops, but you can call me Sarah. I've been reading comics on drunk duck for a while but I've never gotten to the point where I register an account until now!

I'm a writer, currently writing a script for a short, fun project I hope to find an artist for. I'm here on drunk duck really to network, find some story-loving folk to chat with. I'm a bit of a nut for stories, love, love, love them and want to work on them forever. I used to draw my own comics, but that didn't turn out too well as I'm very inpatient with drawing and they turned out terrible (example: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/Hiccup_0509/comic5.gif)

It's nice to be here and I hope you enjoy my posts and comics in the future!

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, lots of us are bad artists. If you don't believe me then you could look at some of the garbage I posted. It took me over 60 comics to get a good stile down, and then I drew something like 200 before I came to Drunk Duck. I'm still tossing the old stuff up for giggles and I think you should do the same just to get a feel for it.

Who knows, you might just catch lightning in a bottle.

The point I'm trying to make is that you can't spend your life looking for the best situation. You've got to go with what you have.

Let's face it, the world isn't waiting for, us and we're not getting any younger.

Ice 9 can end the world!

Hehe, thanks Ice. Unfortunately I actually don't enjoy drawing comics as much as I enjoy writing them! And I don't wanna get stuck doing something I don't enjoy doing. Drawing for the odd picture here and there is fine, but drawing a comic… no, I just don't like the sound of that :)

Thanks for the tip though! :D

Yeah, I know how that is. I could write comics all day and get maybe 50 I could draw them all day and get at best 10. I'd team up with an artist if I could, but I can't. I'd love to do Manga or something but I just don't have the skill to give the story life.

High, Sarah, and welcome. And don't be discouraged about lack of art skills; there are some decent artists here on DD, some of which do a good bit of collab work. I myself am a writer with zero artistic abilities (I can barely draw a stick-man to save my life) and I've worked with 3 different artists so far on my comic, all through this site, so like Ice said; just ask around, and you might find something good. ;)

Anyway, see you around on the Forum Games.

No, honestly Dave7 I'd like to know more about the asking around thing. I draw all my comics myself and they're terrible. I guess that's what the whole “comics you assist” thing is about.

I have to admit I haven't been here that long.

Check round the community projects section, there are various things you can get involved with. There will always be more writers than artists though. That said getting involved with others will help find someone to assist you.

soy-tin-ly. You know that's how I roll,

with a little please there, and a “wouldn't you like to” here

Now let's get those scripts in, self-professed writer types!

don't know, Ayesinback, radio writing is a hard format. I could send you some of my live production stuff, but didn't it say one entry only. It'll take some time to get any of my scripts reformatted for radio.
