Don't worry. I use Fire Fox like a normal person. Just click the link.

The only time I used Internet Explorer was to download Firefox.
Those were my two cents.

I use internet explorer, firefox is nothing special and I would never want to be associated with it because firefox users are CRAZY!

Most pointless thing anyone has ever done. Seriously it's just a friggin program.

Yeah… I can assure you, calling us CRAZY! Ain't gonna win us over.

Look. I use Firefox because it's more stable, attracts less viruses and generally has features that I like that IE doesn't have.

I used IE for ages until I realized how much Firefox is better. It's not a cult thing.

I'm certain some insane IE user has come up with equally ridiculous way to promote his web browser of choice. For some people it's simply more than just a product.

I use Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera. I'm like some kind of browser whore. Internet Explorer, however, is frustrating for me to use as it never closes when I want it to and is very clusmy and slow. Like a door with a stiff hinge.

We used to have IE, but it screwed up our computer, locked it up, and crashed it waay too many times. I finally convinced my mom we needed Firefox and we no longer have any problems.

I use internet explorer. I've used Firefox, and from what I saw it's not different from IE in any way that's significant to me. It's pretty much just the same program, except I had to re-download some codecs and the buttons were in different places. I switched back to internet explorer, and I never give it a second thought until some body on the internet starts talking about it like there's something wrong with me (or other people) for not using Firefox. It all connects to the same internet, so who cares?

bookmarks

When you download and install Firefox, the installation program asks if you want to transfer your IE bookmarks over automatically. Just click yes and the job is done. Can't get more lazy-proof than that.

Many people complain about Vista but most of them are related to backwards compatibility. Many old programs and games that don't compute with Vista. Many also whine about it being unstable but they also did so with XP. Few more updates ought to fix that like they eventually fixed XP.
Those were my two cents.

I have vista. And it works fine.

I took me a while to get used to Firefox too. But now that I have. I can't go back. IE seems rather shitful now that I reflect on it…

Active X

Among other things. ;)

Unfortunately IE isn't just a browser. It's a bit more intimately connected to your OS, which other browsers are not. So whatever happens you WILL have more issues with IE.

Yeah, this confuses me. Most of the stuff on my computer is old and I've never had a problem. At least, not one I couldn't fix pretty easily.

This was a complaint I heard a long time ago. They may have fixed some of the issues now.

I use IE. Mainly because personal experience has proven that firefox is CRAP when you're trying to do creative stuff. It's also a bitch when you have a virus on it that you cousin put there while clicking stupid banner ads. My dad had to reformat the whole damn LAPTOP! I nearly lost ALL my animation files!

Call that jumped up metal rod a knife?
Watch mine go straight through a kevlar table, and if it dunt do the same to a certain gaixan's skull in my immediate vicinity after, I GET A F*****G REFUND! BUKKO, AH?!

This is something I don't get at all. From the extent that Firefox is just a browser, you'd be more likely to have gotten the same virus through IE. FFirefox is just as good for creative things.

—————–
And again, the browsers are NOT all the same people. IE is tied to your OS which means that whenever you use it you will always be inherently more vulnerable than when you use a different browser. Like using your own hand to poke something horrible and smelly instead of a stick. ;)

Plus, it lacks the Active X functionality of IE which makes it safer by default. That's coding which MS has largely had to disable in IE because it can easily make direct changes to your OS just from visiting web pages. but it's still there, and depending on the version of IE you're using or how well patched you are, you can be dangerously open to damage.

The browser wars aren't just a silly argument of aesthetics..

OP: that's awesome. I used to do that with other programs too, lol.

IE is laggy for some reason and takes forever to load any page or even open. :V Which is why I downloaded an IE rendering engine in Firefox so I would never have to open IE to preview my web designs in…ever.

IE is so prone to attack it's not even funny.

Those who bitch about Vista shouldn't be bitching about Vista and should be screaming at their hardware providers for not issuing the drivers out when they had Vista at their disposal months in advance for just that reason.

It isn't Vista, it's the hardware manufacturers. I've never had a problem with Vista itself.

Do I like Vista? No. It's slow and a little sloppy in it's own right, but that's why I'm using XP64 on my computer and waiting for Windows 7

I went from IE to firefox to google chrome.
the switch for firefox to chrome was pretty fast because the convient google search bar and url were the same.

now when I use other browsers, i'll use the url bar as the google bar.

Firefox has a Google search bar and you can use the URL bar in Firefox as a Google search. I do it all the time. It's awesome
