I think personally racism is kinda newish. Studing art, I've reliezed that in Roman and Eygptian times, mixed race families we'er ver common. Several Roman and Greek rulers we'er mixed, and King Tuts grandmother was actually pure black.
But, if mixed races we'er the norm back then, then how did it become a sin several centuries later? Are we just repeating history, and finally allowing mixed families like our Greek fore fathers?

I don't think Youtube comments have much to do with racialism. It's a site that attracts children; stupid, stupid children. And also young adults and teens with WAY too much time on their hands. These guys have no stake in the place and are free to make whatever comment they like without any repercussions. They're bored, bored, BORED, which is why they're there in the first place. Their idea of “fun” is trying to type in a comment that's offensive enough to get a response. If they can get a few responses and start a argument then they've been successful!

That's all there is to 90% of it. Nothing sinister, serious, or anything like that, just your boring old standard trolls that exist EVERYWHERE that will let them.

If the place had an army of moderators, that wouldn't happen, but Youtube doesn't give a Monkey's what people write in comments, as long as it's not spam. Heh, they only have a report function for spam, nothing else.

Look, it's just a different way of thinking ok? Here at DD most of us have a stake in the place so we don't like to bugger it up. There are also consequences if people behave like tools, so we post stuff here to be social and contribute etc. Whereas the reason people go to Youtube is because they're bored as hell. Not many people create their own content there, they're mostly just viewers or people that steel vids from elsewhere, and even those are mostly just attention whores. They go to Youtube for entertainment and part of the entertainment is calling people names and seeing if it gets a reaction.

Too true, and probably the reason why ignoring them will work. But then there's always the other retards who bite into this kind of thing, so it's not going to stop anyttime soon.

Even that wouldn't help much. There's way too much videos and comments on YouTube for the mods to handle. They'd have to have thousands of mods. I'm not seeing that happen in any scenario. I think the best way is to have the spam-filter also applied to ‘tards, so that ’normal people' can report those half-assed comments as well as spam.

Or get rid of the ability to comment altogether. Nobody ever has anything meaningful to say, so why are they there? Like Ozone said, it's just a bunch of kids acting like monkeys with keyboards.

I've got that beat. My mate was giving me a ride a while ago, and in the middle of the road was this (already dead) hedgehog, flattened against the asphalt. It was like 3am, so the road was completely abandoned.

My mate ran over it, stopped, backed up over it, stopped again, ran it over again, stopped again, backed up over it again, and then ran over it again at full speed. During this entire event, we were both laughing like insane maniacs. Now tell me who needs help 8D
