Hey, check out this article about a strange hexegon shape on Saturn:
http://news.com.com/2300-11397_3-6171238-1.html

It's about 4 times bigger than the planet Earth o_O

…Interesting. Geometric shapes do tend to form in nature, even though we only think of circles, but you can even get squares in biology as well as geology (the right angle is not a man made artifice!). While hexagons are probably the easiest and most common geometric shape after circles that you find in the natural world, it's ttill amazing to see one on Saturn like this and at that size!
(although if it was smaller we wouldn't have seen it in the first place ^_^)

Here's a pic of it:

it's pretty cool and it fuels the imagination on what it could be.

i remember when they thought they found a face on mars and they made a movie out of it.

You know, Sub and Oz should make a “News” forum. Because they always have interesting news to discuss, that isn't DD related!

I learn more about current events from here then I do from the paper >>

this is cool

Someone
Here’s your chance to name something much bigger than a street after yourself.

TierneyLab hereby promises to name Saturn’s mysterious hexagon after the reader who comes up with the most entertaining explanation for this 15,000-mile wide feature at the planet’s north pole. NASA says it looks like clouds are whipping around a hexagaonal race track, but to me it doesn’t look anything like Nascar.

The best theory I’ve come up with so far, after brushing up on von Daniken’s “Chariots of the Gods,” is that it’s the Hex Nut of the Giants, affixed to the end of a massive bolt that’s holding the planet together. I haven’t worked out yet how a race of titanic engineers managed to insert the bolt at Saturn’s south pole. Nor have I identified the location of their hardware store, but we need to start looking for it right away, because NASA’s video shows that it’s swirling counterclockwise dangerously near what looks to me like the end of the bolt.

here's my entry
me
Created by a multiverse faring civilization, the “hex” has been placed in many gas giants. The hex harvests energy created in the turbulent environment. Every 28.5 years they harvest the energy using a wormhole that opens in the apature of the hexagon structure. This can be observed by a periodic storm called “the great white spot”.

Well now if that doesn't prove the existance of God I don't know what does.

it's prolly the fact that Titan and Dione line up 6 times for every 1 time Titan orbits Saturn, maybe the combined gravity of the 2 moons is pulling the clouds into this formation over time !

what's wierd is that one of saturn's moon (Iapetus) has hexagonal craters

and if you look really close there are points in the middle of the craters

and some wierd protuberances..kinda like it was engineered

freakyyy

The dots are meteoroids. But maybe they should be called asteroids because they've never entered an atmosphere?
Who knows about the hex craters… Strange.

but… There are these wired shapes in the ground on earth that you get in icy areas. I can't remember what they're called, but they pop out of the ground in big geometric shapes- squares etc. May be something similar?

The ridge around the circumference looks like some kind of compression wave…? Maybe the moon was formed from two smaller moons smashing together?

right in the middle of some of the hexagons there is a structure
it's not like the craters on the moon where it is irregular.

there is a definite hexagonal pattern to Iapetus's craters.
