I found Wizards on DVD! I used to have a copy of it on Beta (Yes I know I'm old) Like finding an old Friend! If you havn't seen it I recomend it. It is a seventyish animated fantasy film and it's different!

Oh… I was about to start talking about Nintendo.

But I know what you're talking about now! That Ralph Bakshi was quite bizarre, wasn't he?

I remember that… Little fella with big feet and a star on his hat? YEARS since I saw that… It wasn't bad.
That's why the Japanese are dominating in the field of animation: they provide a lot of content to adult audiences and always have, while in the west we've only ever had a few rare gems like Wizards.

Wizards: not for kids 8)

The closest we ever really got to adult animation was Heavy Metal 1. That and maybe Spicy City. I don't know if I'd count Fritz The Cat or not as its more yiff.

Also Dirty Duck. A friend of mine forced me to watch that one. I'll never forgive him for that. Also, the concept of “adult content” has changed over the years. Many people objected to the Betty Boop cartoons for being too adult. Plus there were several cartoons from the early sound and color days which targetted adult audiences. They seem pretty tame by today's standards. It really wasn't until the 50's and 60's when Americans started to associate cartoons with kids. Today there seems to be a double standard. People like to associate cartoons with kids, but also enjoy shows like South Park, Family Guy, and other adult oriented cartoons along with more mature themed anime that gets shown on cable.

No. You can claim that here on the Internet, but in reality, you're probably a pimply-faced sixteen-year-old like me, crouching over the keyboard and trying to make yourself cooler and more cred-worthy than you are, only you do it by using someone else's character instead of your own. I mean, being yourself is cool any day, but what you're doing is frontin'. And frontin' is just chilly. Chilly ain't never been cool. (Just a little social constructive criticism. Nothing personal.)

And if you do kill people with guns, don't. Guns are, like, bad and stuff. And besides, they're so easy to use; it takes skill to learn how to kill with a knife or bow and arrow, but any moron can just pick up a gun and kill someone. I prefer puns over guns; they take more discipline and an innate skill for wordplay, but they're easier to conceal and inflict just as much pain.

PS: Wait… what were we talking about? Wizards or something? Man, the other day I saw a wizard painted on the side of a conversion van. He was holding a staff and a mystical orb, and he had this look on his face that was all, “Thou shalt NOT cross me, lest ye suddenly find thyself transmogrified into a Chicken McNugget.” It was pretty sweet-looking.

Um…

Yeah. In retrospect, that might have been a little too harsh. Kain, keep rockin' with your bad vampire self. Have a complimentary fruit basket by way of apology.

Sorrrrr-eeee.

Now, that. That takes skill. I never realised that was a pun until it hit me, way after reading the post, it hit me. But by that time.

It was too late.
