Hey all. Yes this is NOT a page from Philly. Since Philly updates Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays this makes perfect sense because today is…um…Tuesday!!!

But I wanted to hit you up about the Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project!

This was something Hero Initiative did for charity. 100 famous people did covers including Mark Bagley, Todd MacFarlane, Frank Cho, Joseph Michael Linsner, and…

PHILLY'S JIM HANNA!!!!

That's right. That's Philly's artist doing his own Spidey!!!!

Jim's cover sold for major $$$ and no one was happier than I of Philly's artist.

The collection of all the covers is now coming out in September so I'm posting the information below that came from Newsarama (my workplace!!!!)

So check out the sweetness… :) And check back tomorrow for a 4th of July Philly Update!!!

The news below was originally posted at http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=119174

You've seen the amazing art at conventions. You've seen the original covers sell for up to $6700. Now you can own ‘em all!

The Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project, the great art book collecting all 100 Hero Initiative Ultimate Spider-Man pieces, hits stores in September. The Hero Initiative and Marvel Comics have teamed up to bring you this great book at 112 pages with a highly affordable $10 cover price! Proceeds from sales of the book will continue to support Hero’s effort of providing a financial safety net for yesterdays' creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work.

And, as a special double-bonus if ya can't wait ‘til September, The Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project will debut at Wizard World Chicago Aug. 9-12 at the Rosemount Convention Center in Rosemount, IL, where book artists Joe Quesada, J, Scott Campbell and Matt Wagner will all be in attendance!

Says Marvel EiC Joe Quesada, “We were thrilled to see the comics community turn out in force for this project and much attention it brought to Hero Initiative. Now, with all of these great covers in one book, fans around the world can not only see the amazing dedication and love put into the art, but they will be contributing to one of the greatest organizations around.”

More than 80 talented artists were tapped to do a sketch on the blank cover of Ultimate Spider-Man #100 created specifically for The Hero Initiative. Reaction from the artistic community was so overwhelming that some artists insisted on doing two covers. Fans asked for a collected edition in droves, and here it is! This stellar art book includes great Spidey art from Mark Bagley, J. Scott Campbell, Frank Cho, Neil Gaiman, Adam and Andy Kubert, George Pérez, Joe Quesada, John Romita Sr. and Jr. and more. It even includes an introduction from Spidey co-creator Stan Lee himself!

The Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project debuts at Wizard World Chicago, and is in the July Previews for product shipping in September, 2007. There will be only one printing of this softcover book ever, so make sure you don’t miss out on the opportunity, and reserve your copy with your local retailer today.

The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. Hero creates a financial safety net for yesterdays' creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It's a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment. For more information, visit www.HeroInitiative.org or call 310-909-7809.
