Well,

We've had some discussion about who would play Zeke in the movie, but what about some of the other characters? Let's start with Joseph Breen first.

Who do you think would play his character best?

What do you all think about Curtis Armstrong? He might be good comedic relief and would fit the role rather well…

Here's a link - http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/1408/Events/1408/CurtisArms_Ausse_415412_400.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Armstrong,%20Curtis

Thoughts?

He *does* have a great look, though since I don't think I've ever seen him in anything, I can't officially put in a vote of confidence. :)

If Zachary Levi were older, I think he'd be fun in the part–again for the comedic ability and convincing nervousness. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1157048/

James Spader (who was in Stargate ages ago) http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/6490/Events/6490/ActorJame_Steve_14815282_400.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Spader,%20James could work, and I could imagine Ed Norton http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001570/ as a possibility.

Actually,

I like Ed Norton or James Spader. Either of them would work pretty well.

As for Curtis Armstrong - have you never seen Revenge of the Nerds? He was Booger! Or any of the multitude of John Cusack movies from the 80's?

When I was drawing him, I had actually thought of John Cusack as playing him.

Y'know, John Cusack actually has done a western. That might work really well!

I think I saw Revenge of the Nerds once, ages ago. I don't remember the characters though.

John Cusack could be cool, so I'd put him in the top three. (I still like Ed Norton and James Spader. *g*)

well even though those are all great picks, my idea of the Padre would be somebody more along the lines of Simon Pegg. If you think Curtis Armstrong would be a great comedic relief, just think what Pegg would be like. The guy is absolutely brilliant, and if you haven't seen him in any films, check out any of the following (my personal favorite is Shaun of the Dead).

Simon Pegg: http://imdb.com/name/nm0670408/

Movies starring him:
Shaun of The Dead - http://imdb.com/title/tt0365748/
Hot Fuzz - http://imdb.com/title/tt0425112/
24 Hour Party People (just a little, as the journalist) - http://imdb.com/title/tt0274309/

Oh, tbad, good call. Simon Pegg should definitely be on the list.

Heck, he cracks me up in his trailers. I'm really curious how he'll be as the new Scotty. :)

Man, I didn't think of Simon Pegg. He'd be great! I agree completely!

Hmm. Somebody also suggested Thomas Hayden Church. I think he could be really great too.

the only movie i saw starring Thomas Hayden Church is “Over the Hedge”, so all I can say about him is that he does have a very expressive voice. My vote stays on Simon Pegg

Oh man, you never watched Wings? Or that western on AMC he was in with Robert Duvall? He's pretty good. He's been in allot of movies (though the only other one I can think of right now is Sideways). But, I think either him or Simon Pegg would fit really, really well.

nope, not only have I never watched Wings, but I never even heard of it. As for the western (and I know this will make me sound like a heretic because the comic is about cowboys and all), I never was a big fan of the genre.

Thomas Hayden Church also played Sandman in spider-man 3. . . just saying. I could actually see him playing Zeke.

I'll second (third?) Ed Norton. Good choice.
