Renard, you aren't thinking big enough. Sure, those are all great weapons, but… nuke em, nuke em, nuke em, nuke em high! Nuke em low! Boom! AHAHAHAHA!!!

Ahem.

Just had a thought. What about Aztec style weaponry? Just something, I know Harkovast can't have every culture and/or weapon type in it, but still…

So long as the Black Protector is actually black I don't mind. Carry on.

And the Golta secretly have cousins that look like wolverines and have a “White Protector” just because. You know, because everything needs an opposite, like “Dark Elves” and “High/Light Elves” and they have to be opposites in everything except being elves, so the Dark Elves have to be evil… etc… And no, Tolkien's Dark Elves weren't evil… I don't know who to blame for that. Yeah. I just couldn't help myself.

You know, I find it hard to believe that something (an arrowhead) could go through steel like that. Then again, I didn't think that leather would stop a bolt point blank, but it did.

To be fair I think I remember you mentioning the whole armour thing back when the big nameless thing in the beginning was getting it's legs cut out from under it.

My biggest beef is how background characters get taken down by minor wounds, yet important characters absorb so much lead that it's obscene and yet they can shrug it off!

You have to remember that steel doesn't have much give, and if you apply a whole bunch of force to a very small area (the tip of an arrowhead) it can go through it. Leather is obviously softer and has more give, so it can absorb some of the force before puncturing.

The problem with nuclear weapons is the fallout and residual radiation, and I'm willing to bet very few people would have masks to filter out the particles or suits to avoid contamination. Very quickly Harkovast would be drawing a very dark and gritty retelling of The Road, albeit with talking animals.

P.S. Golta should drive nuclear powered Panzers.

The small amount of ‘give’ in leather armour probably gives it a lot of extra resistance, as it can move a bit to absorb some of the force without breaking.

As for all this talk of nuclear strikes and radioactive harkovast animals…Have you all been reading ahead and looking at my notes?

And there are Aztec/maso-american cultures in Harkovast, so you are in luck there.
Cant include every historical culture? Sounds like a challenge to me!

As for this “White Protector”, the Golta already have a white mother (and yes, she is literally white).

But… no wolverines? Whaaa!

Anywho…

That makes sense about the steel. I still have to see it happen to believe it! but I see how it is theoretically possible.

Challenge. Persian, Sarmatian, Scythian, Babylonian, (Ancient) Egyptian, (I wanna see me some chariots! And sickle swords!), Tibetan, Indian (like the Rajputs, Sikhs, Hindus, and Ramayana style stuff), Macedonian phalanx, come up with something completely new, more other Asian cultures that aren't Chinese/Japanese, Maori, Islamic Empire at it's height, and… that's it for now. You have all those? Because that would be a challenge! Also interesting to see.

The King in the West isn't some kind of futuristic fellow with advanced technology (like nukes) that the poor more primitive animals have to defeat? He (King would be a he, yes? Or an it I suppose) wouldn't also happen to be an alien from space? Or a human as well, would he?

Second thought… The Lel don't have nukes do they?

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, that was a culture…

Although I suppose it would be pretty interesting if the King in the West was human, it's just like us to be a bunch of mean bastards, invading everyone and killing stuff!

And the King of the West is… STALIN!

Okay, no. Sorry.

Did you know that Stalin is alive and well? I bet he's still around, just waiting… Also, there's a Adolf Hitler on Drunk Duck… So, who knows?

Here are a few I can confirm…
Egyptian yes
Indian yes
Islamic yes
macedonian yes
Other asian yes
Soviets- the Golta are kinda communist in a lot of ways.

Other ones I have are Dacian (The falk used by Junlocks) and Carthage (several of the concepts behind the Zadakine.)

Who is the King in the West? I couldn't possibly comment at this early juncture.
But He is basically the most powerful person in Harkovast.

Though he is NOT a human. That would just be lame. No humans in harkovast! That is my pledge (not counting joke pages).
Other then that, I cant confirm or deny any rumours.

And I cant tell you about the enigmatic Lel. After all, if I did that they wouldn't be very enigmatic!

Neato! This is looking good. But I knew that already.

I doubted the KITW would be human, that guess came after even “the space alien” one!

But I do know something about the Lel. Aside from that they live on (maybe in it too, they could be moles!) a (relatively) small chunk of land and made Shogun's mechanical arm; they don't have nukes.

You see, the KITW is the most powerful person in Harkovast, but if the Lel had nukes they would be the most powerful, in fact, whoever had their button on the trigger would be the most powerful (from a destructive viewpoint anyway). Ergo, the Lel cannot have nukes because they are not the most powerful! (Unless the KITW is a Lel… oh).

Hold it… actually the Lel could have nukes. IF the KITW also had nukes, just more or better ones. And if He did… well then… that might also lend credence to the hypothesis that He is a Lel. That's double secretive!

Okay, I'm just messing around now. Have been for a bit now.

But I will guess this: Either the KITW personally has access to all the magic types in Harkovast, or He has access to none of them directly (as in, by himself without henchmen). If He has access to none then he has something different that makes Him powerful. (or both magic and something else). He's not some kind of giant bug is He? (Not expecting an answer there, no worries). I somehow have a feeling that some of those without magic are giant bugs… just a feeling.

Also, given the capital H, He may actually be a god. Of some kind. Or a demi god. I dunno.

And the Soviet Union's Stalin award for paranoia goes to… THE GOLTA *cheers*

Oh, and are there mole people? That would be neat. Everyone needs mole people… Okay, I'll stop… for now.

Hahha, I love all this whacky speculation, but alas I cant confirm or deny any rumours regarding the Lel or the KITW.

Though well done for noticing that He gets a capital letter on ‘he’ when He is referred to.

Recently Harko-fans seem to be extra observant for little things like that.
