I was just glancing through one of last year's threads and saw that would-be judges needed to register

is something like this going to be in place for this year, too?  Sorry if this question was already asked and answered elsewhere, but I didn't notice it if it was.

I definitely want to do at least one presentation page and will maybe do some extra pages.  I have evening wear for my figures and there's a bar set for an after-awards party.

Warm bodies are always needed/appreciated.
(Especially for presenters and judges.)
 
I only have three people that have actually signed up on the judges sign up thread in the forum.

Hi Niccea…I think I volunteered in the wrong thread. My warm body is up for grabs!
 
Well, for a DD awards presentation page or three, that is.
And I'm kind of COLD at the moment…
So I'd love to present in the horror category (but I'd like to do any technical awards, also)
Don't really feel confident/time-enabled to judge this time around (maybe next time).

excuse me, but it seems as if we are already doing this else where. it has been said that only nixon could go to china and with that in mind only DR.Argon could go to the duck. we have judges in place, a catagory list, a host, banners designed, logo's  and will soon be ready to take votes or nominies. why do this twice we could combine our list and just have one massive show ! no need for other volunteers. besides from what i've seen the last community project(the podcast teleplay) it was hard to find volunteers. LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER! JOIN ME AND TOGEATHER WE WILL RULE THE UNIVERSE! or i can just do it. we are ready to roll so let's just save everybody the trouble.

Heh, merge them or do both, either works but if it is the VnD one some more forum presence would be useful…  but that should come with merging them anyway.

This is the 5th annual Drunk Duck Awards. This program has history. And the categories already in place and a forum that we have had for the past 3 years for this purpose. If you want, I can send you the numbers from our ballots at the end of the voting period (Sept. 11th through 25th).
 
I admit that I have heard a little of your awards that you are throwing together, but what you lack is publicity.

Seriously, though. The DD Awards are an annual event, and I am glad to see them running. The DD Award categories and judging process have gone through mind-numbing community-wide discussion, editing, voting, and more mind-numbing discussion.  It is further modified by the community every year. The DD Awards are completely community-run, and extra categories and things can't be just added on a whim.
 
 
 
It doesn't conflict with other people running their own show, of course. You ought to promote it a bit, though. (Of course, interrupting this thread is, I suppose, one way to do that.) Maybe have it announced in the newspost?

I don't think two awards conflicts at all.  That's like saying that the Oscars and Emmy's are pointless because of the Golden Globes or the SAG awards.

Ok. Now that, has been taken care off. We still need more panelists and presenters. If you wish to judge please follow the instructions in the OP if you haven't already. Then post on the thread in the Judges forum about judging. I'm not in a rush right now because the actually judging won't begin for a month, but I would rather have too many judges than not enough. If you have friends on the duck that haven't come over yet promote it. Tomorrow morning I will be making banners to help promote our awards.

If there's more catergories than there are presenters I guess that means some will do more than one?

Most likely, but there are a couple who have requested to do more than one so I would start with them first. Much like the judging, there isn't a huge need until next month when the finalists have been decided. The judges will have to do more than one category unless there is an overwelming turnout just because we need 3 judges to each category.

Sir I challenge you for the honor of presenting the horror page. But even if I don't get the horror I still want to do one. Perferablly not a tech one.
 
Also good with helping with counting votes and what not.

Niccea, I've already put myself up as a presenter (if i was accepted), but i think I'd like to specify the category i'd like…
If anything it'd be great to present for Slice of Life or Real Life genre =P i just  like those ones a lot
