The Year is Dead. Long Live the Year. :)

Any resolutions out there? I saw a meme that responded to that question with: Yes – 1280 X 1024. I think that's about right.

So wishing all the very best in this 2013.

Here's to a better year than 2012!

Seriously, though. My 2012 was horrible. Worst year of my life so far, contained the worst month of my life so far (October).
Glad to see the back of ‘em both!

A lot of the stuff I plan to do this year was stuff I already wanted to do but couldn’t because of how shit everything was. So I don't really need to make any. I lost nearly two stone before 2013 started anyway. So no need to change that, either.

My PC hard drive was destroyed and so were the backups so I need to start re-writing the scripts for my comics and re-drawing the concept art.

The only resolution I can make this year as a result:
“This time when I finish the first fewpagesI WILL FREAKING POST THEM!!!”

Call that jumped up metal rod a knife?
Watch mine go straight through a kevlar table, and if it dunt do the same to a certain gaixan's skull in my immediate vicinity after, I GET A F*****G REFUND! BUKKO, AH?!

It really takes 1000 years to fix it? Not too good I was hoping it'd be fixed at least by the 24 1/2th Century for Duck Dodgers.

I'm just glad that I managed to outlive 2012, seeing as it was always promising to end the world. Good to see that doom and gloom year out of the way.
Those were my two cents.

PP you have giant volcanoes so the eand of the world for you is more of a real concept. :)

Tantz has political turmoil where she is so I imagine that feels pretty doomsday too! ^_^

Life is pretty smooth here for the most part- geologically solid as a very hard rock, politically bland, and economically buoyant… as long as China keeps paying us for our minerals.

Oz. You know just as well as I do that Icelanders are too stuborn to worry about silly things like volcanoes. Why do you think we built our capital on an active hotspot?

Edit: Also, am changing my avatar to something more befitting to this post.

I will confirm that at least one Icelander is either very fond of his home (probably) or stubborn (not entirely unlikely) or just doesn't want to have to tote around someone else's food any more (can't be ruled out). or perhaps a combination thereof

Product Placement toted food. I needed someone to do it and he was available (and good at it) and this is how you end up with a job if you are in my company for any amount of time. So this New Year was particularly delightful with Product Placement's addition. He and Roku are still a thing and he came for a visit. I was questioned by a Rokulily grandparent: what kind of thing? I have no proper answer. They're ducks in the same pond - how's that?

There was the teensiest bit of a clue that I knew what Product was up to in the Gullas/Oz thread. We were in the same room with our respective laptops running (Betsy the ol PC is dead, for those who might be wondering. Long live Honeybee the laptop) - and there's nothing like being in the same room with laptops running to enable instant trollism.

So I had a much-needed break from work beginning 2:30 PM 31 Dec. and ending this past Mon. My resolution is not to let stupidness get to me. I was doing really well with that until yesterday. Slight dip in the graph, but recovered nicely today.

cheers!

If you find a reason to travel to the states again and your flight takes you through Europe, then you'll need an awfully good excuse to not stop by my place. My local airliner company offers free stopover for those traveling across the Atlantic.

On the topic of volcanoes, I remember listening to an old broadcast from the 70's, which was from the time when a offshore village was being threatened by an eruption (can read about said eruption here). A reporter from the city was talking to a villager, who was still on the island, through a phone. Now, I'm translating the interview from memory but it went something like this:

Reporter: So can you tell us what's going on, on the island?
Woman: Well, the Civil Defence has order us all to the harbor for evacuation. My family are packing up some essentials to take with us.
Reporter: And how's the weather?
Woman: Oh! The weather's fantastic. Not the slightest breeze, which is surprising because the forecast was predicting a storm.

Oh, sure. The town is about to be buried under molten rock, but hey, the weather's pretty great.
Those were my two cents.

3 months into 2013 and I'm already starting to miss 2012. I loved that year so much better… xD The family car broke down this year and went flat broke for weeks on end for a good while.
The only real perk has been commissions. I made $200 bucks so far.

I don't believe Nature has taken notice. At least not here in NJ. She's really holding on tight to winter this year - maybe her version of slowing down the rotation like I remember dragging my foot to slow down one of these:

Who am I kidding. It was more like this:

I once had the job of taking down the playground for maintenance and repainting. Every year how those kids would destroy that merry-go-round and every year repaint it.

Ever try to paint a jungle jim with a paintbrush? You're climbing through the thing trying to get every angle and not get paint on you. It was more fun than playing on it was when I was a kid.

The weather in NJ will finally get into the 50's this weekend! Spring is here! About &%#$ time.
