Hippie Van's DD Characters Through History

Started my own thread because I'm going to have a bunch of these and don't want to hog the fashion parade.

Anyways - I'm a better history student than I am a fashion designer, so I thought I would contribute what I could by placing some DD characters in historical outfits!

The outfits are in no particular order and are chosen based on whatever happens to catch my eye. The big historical fashion book that I have my hands on right now is very very Euro-centric, so unless someone feels like buying me a better one the outfits will be limited in that way, I'm afraid. I might add makeup to some of the characters, but will probably leave hair intact even when it's not really historically appropriate. Should probably also add that I'm not going to promise that these will be 100% historically accurate. :P

I've already tentatively matched up a bunch of characters to historical clothes that I feel suit them, but if you have a special request for your character in terms of place or era, let me know and I will see what I can do! (I could probably do some non-Western outfits as well, but would have to do a little bit of research first.)

To start us off, here's kawaiidaigakusei's character Leona in some demure but stylish 1920s sportswear! Off to play a very graceful game of tennis on a crisp autumn day, I expect.

Ironscarf's character Kyoko looking both graceful and powerful as a classical Greek lady, possibly an entertainer at a fancy party. (Billowing fabrics are not my specialty, so apologies for that!)

Kaida's figure lends itself perfectly to this simple early 1920s dress! It's not the glitz and glam of a late 1920s bash, but I think there's a certain modest charm to this one.

Woohoo! History is seriously the most awesome theme I entered this forum expecting a range of all your characters from Hippie Van Comic to Izzy to Dee. This was a very cool find, indeed!

I do love a good cardigan and that shade of red suits the rest of the colouring. Additionally, tennis was the only team sport I attempted in high school. I love this fashion.

Also–Ironscarf's Kyoko is channeling Athena or Hera. I am so excited to see how you execute future designs.

Fantastic looks! I'm definitely working a classical greek theme night into a future plot on the strength of this.

I'm glad you all approve! Here's another little batch.

Obviously I had no choice but to put ozoneocean's character Jirel in this swinging 1960s outfit - she looks right at home in the era of bright colours and mini skirts!

Peipei's character Orlaith looks stern but not stiff here, conveying an air of independence in this 1890s bicycling suit.

This military-inspired wool suit from the 1950s emphasizes Kimber Lee's figure while remaining modest and practical!

I'm going to have some older ones eventually, but they're quite a bit more elaborate and I only have a small window of free time every day so it might take a little while to get them done.

I have lots more planned (I want to do at least one character from everyone so no one is left out!), but this will probably be the last for a while because ugh essays.

VinoMas' Princess January looking decidedly Parisian in this glamorous (and somewhat stylized…) 1920s evening gown.
